Matthew Bartels Posted January 17, 2009 at 04:55 AM Posted January 17, 2009 at 04:55 AM Ok. I know that most times when this topic is brought up, it is immediately locked. This is purely for tech support help, not ilegally downloading said file. I have run into the same issues as the other threads in the past. But miraculously I was able to get the world.cab file off of my disk even though it wouldn't install. Is there a way to manually install the files or do i need to reinstall using disks 1-3. Note that these disks are in MI and I'm currently in Northern Virginia for 3 weeks. If even this is treading into dangerous waters, feel free to delete / lock or whatnot. Thanks! Norman Blackburn Posted January 17, 2009 at 08:52 AM Posted January 17, 2009 at 08:52 AM CAB files can often be opened with a compression unitility such as winzip. The issue however is then knowing where to extract those files. Norman
Matthew Bartels Posted January 17, 2009 at 04:52 PM Author Posted January 17, 2009 at 04:52 PM Thanks Norman. I did use winzip to uncompress the cab file. It extracted it into Scenery and Textures. I then copied those folders over to the FS9>Scenery>World. Where I found two folders named the exact same thing! A simple replacement of the folders, and it worked!
