[Announcement] VATCAF introduces the Kano FIR

Dear VATSIM members!

 

I am pleased to announce the official start of the Kano, Nigeria FIR to the VATSIM network! The Kano FIR is being developed to provide ATC service to the beautiful country of Nigeria for the VATSIM network.

 

Kano FIR's main airport, DNMM Lagos-Ikeja Murtala Muhammed International Airport, is the largest and busiest airport in Central Africa. The airport features 2 parallel runways and is in close proximity to every popular airport on the west coast of Central Africa.

 

The FIR is also home to the popular Virgin Nigeria Virtual from the SimMiles network and is bordered by two active FIRs (Accra to the West and Brazzaville/DRC to the Southeast).

 

The Kano FIR is being developed to provide radar service at a least 3 of it's major airports and procedural enroute services to the entire country.

 

Launching a brand new FIR is no easy task. Thats where you come in! Kano FIR is looking for new and experienced controllers to come and staff one of the newest FIR's on VATSIM.

PS: If I was a thread hijacker I would mention that also Accra FIR (covering Ghana, Togo and Benin) is looking for controllers. But, no, I am certainly not one of these kind of guys

FIR Update:

 

I am pleased to report that our VA partner, Virgin Nigeria Virtual http://www.vgnvirtual.co.nr/ ,has undergone a major update to it's website, fleet and route offerings.

 

This developement is proof positive that this area of Central Africa is set for big time growth.
