I have been flying vatsim on my new PC for the last 6mth with no problems then I went away for a week returned last Mon to find that i couldn't hold a connection to UK-1 server so i changed to another server USA-C which worked fine but the FSFDT control box would not connect automatically. in a effort to solve this I reloaded to find I was back to square one but now when I change to another server the connection will not remain it keeps returning to UK-1. I run FSX with no problems until now. Could anyone suggest any solutions please. I believe I have followed the fswinn intructions to the letter. i expect I have missed something even so.

Cheers Bob

UK-1 is down. Recommend checking what servers are actually on the network (via the VATSIM web page or a tool like Servinfo) and then connecting to the one that is closest to you.

When you are changing servers are you closing the 'Set' box once you select the server to use in the drop down list. I believe you have to do that for the changes to take effect.

Thanks guys for the information re the UK server and the advice about closing the setup box. i am sure that I have done this but the dropdown for the servers is not populated so i just put in the IP of the server to be used and then close the set box. Then I log on to the control box throught FS, the box comes up but I get connection timed out and then when I return to change the server address, the address i used has now reverted back to that of the UK server. It seems to default to the UK server, perhaps when it comes back on line my problems will be solved. I hope.

Robert, I suggest you update your server list and use another one. Do NOT rely on UK-1 coming back any time quickly...
