The VATNZ Sunday Night Operation this week is in support of of sister division VATPAC who have their big weekend long Rolling Thunder event all this weekend, from Friday night through to Sunday night.

Their timetable culminates into an event on Sunday night covering the East Coast J Curve from Brisbane to Melbourne affectionately known as the "Milk Run".

VATNZ will support VATPAC's Rolling Thunder by flying into Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch.

For correct position reporting in Oceanic Airspace, pilots are encouraged to read the VATNZ Oceanic Control Procedures information page.

Aircraft flying above FL245 MUST be SELCAL equipped. All non-SELCAL equipped aircraft must operate below FL245.

For information on SELCAL visit: http://www.vatnz.net/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=46&Itemid=28

For information on setting up SELCAL in SquawkBox visit: http://www.vatnz.net/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=47&Itemid=28

Total flight time one-way should be somewhere in the region of 3 - 3.5 hours depending on your aircraft type, and prevailing winds.

Note: If you're providing ATC on the night, please give priority to these positions. They are not an exclusive list, but they are the ones that will see the most action this Sunday.

To reserve a particular ATC position, please post a message to that effect (including the times you expect to be online) in this thread. If possible, also book your position using vRoute - large numbers of bookings in vroute attract additional traffic.

Charts/Airspace Info:

Available from the VATNZ Airspace Reference site.
