Hi, I am upgrading to FSX and I am going to buy some good payware add ons eg. PMDG and Level-D. I was just wandering if you guys could reccomend a computer which could run these. I am not hoping to spend to much either as my parents will probably buy it to me!

Thanks, Calum

(2.4GHz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB Cache)

Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic

2GB DDR2 memory

NVIDIA® GeForce 7050 graphics

How about an 8800GT? Don't skimp on the GPU.

Cheers!

with that system you'll be better off with FS9... not much wrong with that.

Yes, fs9 is not that much demanding as fsx. You should be able to run tons of add-on with fs9; PMDG, LevelD, Wilco, PSS, Aerosoft, Eaglesoft, Dreamfleet almost everything. Compared to fsx, though it offers a highly detailed environment than fs9, but you should be fine with fs9.

You'll have to go on ebay for 88 Series, There pretty much obsolite. 9800GTX is pretty Nice, But that Processor might bottleneck your system. Intel Duo Core is the way to go.

The computer comes with Vista. I know that XP is needed for FS9. Could I buy a disk or something or is it impossible for me to get XP?

I also think the 8800GT would work, I have one and I get great FPS under almost any conditions.

FS9 runs on Vista, I believe that it requires you to run it as an administrator. However, you can get XP from newegg.

Yes, I know quite a few people who run PMDG/LVLD/PSS/Feelthere on Vista with little to no problems.

It doesn't matter any more. I am getting an old computer wiped completely and hopefully it will work! It has a 2.8 GHz processor although I'm not sure about the rest of the specs.

alright here is my VALUABLE suggestion you must have a INTEL Duo core or a quad if you want to pay more money. Also, 3 RAM or better for Vista 2or better for XP. you need a graphic card. I would suggest the GeForce 9600GT ir 9800 GTX they are the same in some way but the GT is a little chiper. This if you only have a 19 inch screen or below. If however you have a 20 inch or up screnn. You need a better graphics card, just let me know and I will tell you. For the hard drive, it really depends on what you are going to use it for. If you download movies music AND of course FSX I highly suggest a 320GB or 500GB. Only If you a really proffesional gamer with banch of games you may want more hard drive otherwise it s a waist of money.

Would any dell dual core processor do as long as it is over 3 GHz? Or are there any other makes which are cheaper e.g. Athlon?
