Scott Barnes 937150 Posted July 19, 2005 at 05:38 AM Posted July 19, 2005 at 05:38 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm new to VATSIM, am intending to fly with Vatsim-UK and am having difficulty with registering with UK Aeronautical Information Services. I was wondering if there are any Vat-UK pilots or ATC online that could provide some insight into what I'm doing wrong. I thought I would ask here prior to calling their support number. When registering, I provide all information in all fields, but when I enter my zip code (I live in the United States) and press REGISTER I am presented with an error message stating that I have "illegal characters in this field", and " this field must contain up to 5 20. Is this zip code error related to my U.S. area code? I've even attempted to enter my five digit area code with four digit local suffix without success. Any help would be appreciated. Scott Barnes 937150 Posted July 19, 2005 at 07:08 AM Author Posted July 19, 2005 at 07:08 AM Disregard above post. I've found the problem. I have to be a UK resident with an [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ociated zip to register successfully. Scott

Scott Barnes 937150 Posted July 19, 2005 at 02:41 PM Author Posted July 19, 2005 at 02:41 PM Andre, that is indeed what I did. I feel a bit of a fraud though. I don't feel too badly about it as it is free for public use and it's use furthers the aims of aviation enthusiasts in general, not just for those of us that fly in the virtual world. That may just be my rationalization for my falsehood however. Scott Barnes
Alan Sutherland Posted July 23, 2005 at 01:05 PM Posted July 23, 2005 at 01:05 PM You can get charts from http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/publicuser/public/pu/login.jsp which has a lot of charts for most of Europe. You need to register but i do not think you have to be an EU citizen.
