Mahmoud Fadli 819693 Posted April 4, 2009 at 01:10 AM Posted April 4, 2009 at 01:10 AM Just a general question: What can VATME do to make our Division more appealing to both Pilots and ATC? Please give us constructive suggestions to help us make your experience with us the best! Mahmoud A. Amro Aly 1029654 Posted April 8, 2009 at 05:56 PM Posted April 8, 2009 at 05:56 PM Mahmoud, I believe what would increase the traffic in the area, by introducing more events to attract more pilots and more ATC to join our network. one other thing is to arrange for events with neighbor regions to attract their pilots to fly in and enjoy the best ATC. Matt Booker Posted April 8, 2009 at 06:53 PM Posted April 8, 2009 at 06:53 PM I agree totally with Amro, VATME has the foundations set for good things to come. The website has alot of useful docomeentation avaliable, all we need now is a good event and a posotive build up to showcase the Division and our controllers. Blue Skies. Thomas Mathieu 998318 Posted April 8, 2009 at 09:37 PM Posted April 8, 2009 at 09:37 PM Events is a huge plus. Hold a large 4 to 6 hour event at least once a month. Also, promo videos showcasing events, flyins and VA's gets you much PR. The more pilots see good things about VATME, the more will fly there. Having a wealth of charts and info is a plus too as pilots who are unfamilar with the airspace will most likely fly in. Abdelrahman M. Elfeky 1044 Posted April 9, 2009 at 09:27 AM Posted April 9, 2009 at 09:27 AM Let me just share something from what i study at School There is something called in real world business - Marketing Segmentation's - which is a group of customers ( pilots this time ) respond the same way to the Marketing efforts ( in our case its events ) So , what i would like to say , i was trying to introduce the Community to VATME by doing mini and medium size events to be increase in size and importance comeulatively But , not everything one wish happens . Me and Josiah ( VATUAE1 ) had really hard time getting AD event up . firstly , not enough resources to use , to a degree that i switch the event from RealOps to normal one because couldn't get a booking system up and running . secondly , not enough ATCo to run 8 hours event SO, what i would say is Weekly events will do the job for us , am currently under planning for it . will be sending a m[Mod - Happy Thoughts] email to FIR's Cheifs to setup a date and for them to stress their members to join such night. And i would like to rise the Slogan '' LETS TURN A ZERO INTO A HERO '' , maybe this will work Regards ,,,

Alexander Cohrs Posted April 9, 2009 at 06:26 PM Posted April 9, 2009 at 06:26 PM I also would say you just need to have a lot of patience: Staff your ATC positions as often and as long as you can, even when there is no traffic at all, and soner or later the pilots will come. The secret is not to feel discouraged after some lonely evenings. Alex
Thomas Mathieu 998318 Posted April 9, 2009 at 09:38 PM Posted April 9, 2009 at 09:38 PM LETS TURN A ZERO INTO A HERO That quote does not have a nice ring to it. In Central Africa, we use "Yours to Discover" and highlight our exotic airports and extreme weather conditions. We also have several airports the are close by to volcanos. Look for the hidden jems in your FIR's. You would be amazed what a few VFR flights around your own airspace will reveal. Navid Hamzeloo 938184 Posted April 13, 2009 at 12:11 AM Posted April 13, 2009 at 12:11 AM Hi everyone what I personally think that would make effective changes would be in full co-ordination with Local VA's, or if there are non, simply gather up a team to build one ... for an example we had Iran Air virtual which started off very very good, lasted for about a year, got to an stage when we had atleast 15 local flights each evening, but for some reason it had to be closed down, because there were no other VAs operating in Iran, most pilots and also a few controller migrated to IVAO. in case of Iran, a VA would help. apart from that, I totaly agree with the weekly online night, each week to a destination in ME. So if my GFA virtual is reading this, check your mail Also, within the UAE and JO FIRs Arabian has hubs. From the VAs ive seen in the region, this is possibly the best one, any new pilots wanting to check it out http://www.arabianva.com . Hopefully in the future, more VAs will start up within the region, perhaps flyDubai Virtual could be a good one Josh

Anyway, you can either send a copy to Eb, or mail it to [email protected]. As Eb said we´re currently developing our own ACARS System. Well, actually it´s in beta status and I get a lot of mails for either updates or bug reports, so it might take up to 2 days for us to response
