Tim Bradley 891858 Posted July 25, 2005 at 02:17 PM Posted July 25, 2005 at 02:17 PM I am looking for a way to add an intersection into FS2004. My flight plan calls for TOU17 (N48:30:24/W124:55:04), but FS2004 doesn't have it. I have AFCAD, but that just does airports and NAVAIDs around airports. Is there an editor out there that will allow users to add intersections to FS2004? Thanks! Tim... Tim Bradley AAL134
Owen Catherwood 903683 Posted July 25, 2005 at 04:10 PM Posted July 25, 2005 at 04:10 PM I use BGLComp to create fixes for FS9 by tying the fixes to an airfield using XML. KZSE C3/Facilities Administrator
Tim Bradley 891858 Posted July 26, 2005 at 01:30 PM Author Posted July 26, 2005 at 01:30 PM OK. It took some hacking, but I think I got it. I used a program to decompile one of the APxxxxxx.bgl files into an XML docomeent. I then hacked around that docomeent, trying to figure out the best way to insert this intersection/waypoint. After a number of failed parsings, I got BGLCOMP to p[Mod - Happy Thoughts] the docomeent back into a BGL file. After that, instead of replacing the original APxxxxxxx.bgl file, I just added the new bgl file into my Addon Scenery folder. FS2004 took it from there. WOOHOO! Thanks for to [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ist. Tim... Tim Bradley AAL134

Hello Tim, Since I am a newbie in the area of programming etc, I will appreciate very much if you can mail me the detailed instructions of how you are dealing with the subject of adding a navaid to FS2004. Trent Hopkinson Posted October 4, 2005 at 12:09 AM Posted October 4, 2005 at 12:09 AM That looks like it is a fix based on another fix. something based off a navaid "TOU" by the looks of it. It should have some more info on it though, something about 17. Weather it's 17DME from TOU or something else, Im not sure. I'd have to see the entire flightplan and in verbose to work it out. Some areas also have a series of numbered waypoints (Im thinking like some of the EHAM SID's) which, again, are usually waypoints based on a radial/DME of another fix, but not neccicarily holding a clue of what it that radial/dme is in the name of the waypoint. Shlomo Klein 913027 Posted October 4, 2005 at 06:04 AM Posted October 4, 2005 at 06:04 AM Well, I need to rephrase my question and correct terminology. I want to add an intersection/waypoint to the FS2004 scenery (like WW411 near Vienna, Austria - appears on the charts, not found in the FS2004 GPS db). I understand, from Tim's reply in the forum, that he succeeded to do it. How ? can any one send me by mail a detailed explanation as how to it. Thanks.
