On the first anniversary of that landing services were held throughout the country in remembrance of the 2,721 New Zealand soldiers who died during the eight-month Gallipoli Campaign. Since 1916 ANZAC Day has evolved to the observance we know today. Tonight we remember those who have given their lives in service to the country by flying any era of military aircraft into the three major RNZAF Bases in New Zealand, RNZAF Whenuapai (NZWP), RNZAF Ohakea (NZOH) and RNZAF Woodbourne (NZWB) and also into the Air Movements base at Wellington Airport. Come and experience flying into some airfields that you mightn't be used to flying in and out of.
