Hey guys, I am just posting here for some tips. I have saved up some money and have received a lot of Best Buy gift cards for a new camera. I am very interested in photography... I want to be able to take pictures that have the quality to make it onto airliner dot net. I dont know very much about cameras but I am very willing to learn because I know I will have to.

So the point of this post, I am curious about reviews of certain cameras for aviation pictures and what kind of camera I need to be able to take good enough pictures to make it onto airliners. I really dont know much at all. I dont know what company makes the best kind of cameras or what are the biggest things I have to look into when trying to find a camera.

Please help me out.

Kyle

Whoa, what a question, how long is a piece of string.

I have a digi cam which is about 5 years old and I still use it and it produces pin sharp images. It's a Fuji finepix SLR digital camera. 6megapixel quality.

The camera on my Nokia N95 cellphone is 6megapixel, see what i'm saying. I reckon for about a $1000 you could get yourself a very good papparazzi standard digital SLR, with a good wideangle/zoom combo lens.

If I was in the market for a new camera I would be looking at NIKON and nothing else.

My two cents worth.

Oh and go out and buy a copy of What Digital Camera or the American equivalant.

The answers will depend entirely on your budget.

Even though I shoot professionally, with great pro equipment, I still can't get my images onto a.net. I gave up on that one.
