Ryan Guffey 956726 Posted May 5, 2009 at 05:15 PM Posted May 5, 2009 at 05:15 PM Hey guys, Im trying to get back into flying on the network but I am planning on using X-Plane. I found this really neat program FS2Xplane. I have started converting my payware scenery from FS9, but I continue to have problems with them. I have done FT KSEA and IS KATL. Here is KATL. After doing Seattle, the water was showing textures of like the panel of an aircraft instead of water. So what is the problem and how can I fix it? BTW, after I have finished converting them, I get the txt docomeent that says it was missing a couple BMP's which is the problem Im sure. How can I fix that? Wade Williams 877539 Posted May 5, 2009 at 06:11 PM Posted May 5, 2009 at 06:11 PM Guffey, Yeah, I wouldn't expect perfection from an automated tool. Rather than going that route, I'd recommend downloading X-plane specific scenery such as: http://web.me.com/theosdavis/xpfiles/scenery.html or joining an X-plane-specific VA with their own scenery, such as California Airlines. Ryan Guffey 956726 Posted May 5, 2009 at 06:56 PM Author Posted May 5, 2009 at 06:56 PM one more question. With this guys scenery he doesnt have a readme where to put all the files. Say inside "Alabama" there is like HSV, bridges, etc. Do I put them all under custom scenery individually? Or put it in under just the one file "Alabama" in custom scenery. Wade Williams 877539 Posted May 5, 2009 at 06:59 PM Posted May 5, 2009 at 06:59 PM Put the entire Alabama folder under Custom Scenery.

Erhan Atesoglu 1050499 Posted May 5, 2009 at 09:34 PM Posted May 5, 2009 at 09:34 PM I wonder if it has anything to do with the pre-MIPMAP .bmp from the original scenery. If that's the case then it wouldn't be possible to convert those particular .bmp to X-plane's native .png format. The way you can tell if this is the case is to view those missing files under photoshop or windows photo gallery, you'll see a tiled and "scrambled" image instead of plain textures. http://www.pond64.net
Ryan Guffey 956726 Posted May 6, 2009 at 10:32 PM Author Posted May 6, 2009 at 10:32 PM I will have to try that. In the mean time I have converted FSDT KORD. The only problem I see is the runway taxiway markings. They are higher than the plane depending on how you pan. Everything else looks fine. Looks good in X-plane VATSIM Supervisor
Wade Williams 877539 Posted May 6, 2009 at 10:47 PM Posted May 6, 2009 at 10:47 PM Not sure if it affects that problem, but be sure to have "runways follow terrain contours" turned off when flying online.
