Andrew Quirion 919643 Posted May 13, 2009 at 12:50 PM Posted May 13, 2009 at 12:50 PM I'm building a new system and I was wondering if this is a good combo to run FS with a bunch of payware scenery and planes and still get great frame rates: GFX: Galaxy GeForce 9800 GTX 512MB CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (not enough $ for an i7 just yet) with 4GB of RAM. Should I be getting a nice show or should I up the chips? Alex Evans 1082181 Posted May 24, 2009 at 10:21 PM Posted May 24, 2009 at 10:21 PM Yes I think so. I'm running a similar spec - difference is mine is a Q6600 oc to 3.4GHZ. I run FSX, VOXATC, a demanding payware aircraft the flight 1 mustang, real time weather software, vfr scenery etc... It's smooth and pretty - but don't expect to just move all the sliders to the right running all those add-ons. You may need a mild overclock, especially if you intend to run detailed airport scenery.
