Max Brener 1108505 Posted May 23, 2009 at 03:34 PM Posted May 23, 2009 at 03:34 PM Hi everyone. I changed from FS2004+SB to FSX a few days ago, and I'm still having trouble connecting to VATSIM with it. Instead of messing around with it, I figured I'll better ask for help here. Anyway, here is my exprerience so far: After installing FSX (with SP1), no SB or FSInn yet, everything worked fine. Then, I uninstalled SB (that ws installed for FS2004) and reinstalled it (version 4). Here the troubles began: First thing I noticed, whenever I clicked Free Flight -> Select Aircraft, the FS would freeze for a minute or so before the aircraft list shows up (before SB it would appear immediatly). For most airports, whenever I started SB and connected to VATSIM, FSX would freeze completely right after connecting. I decided ot get rid of SB, and give FSInn (which I have'nt used before) a try. I got it running, and was able to connect. However, I didn't see any traffic arround me. Affter messing around with the setting, I was able to see the traffic (which was a little low, and I don't know if it's a problem with the setting or simply low traffic). However, I found FSInn much less convinient to use than SB. I read that SP2 might solve some of the problems, so I downloaded and installed it, also installed SB once again. Foe now, SB seems to work most of the time, but strange trouble began with FSInn: Whenever I connected two airplanes would appear in the sides of the screen, and quickly move towards my airplane and get over it. Then they'll follow it around. I'm really lost here, and I'm sure that some of you are using FSX and got it working. So the bottom line is: How did you get VATSIM working in FSX? Wycliffe Barrett Posted May 23, 2009 at 09:46 PM Posted May 23, 2009 at 09:46 PM Fsinn is just as easy and convienient as SB4 to use. it just looks different. regards traffic it may just have been a simple case of there being not much traffic about. The plane sticking to you is simple enough to fix, make sure you have peer to peer unchecked in the settings and that will solve the problem immediately. If this doesnt help then go to the Fsinn forum where I , Bill or Larry will offer you more help. FSX and VATSIM work just fine together.
