I have a Compaq S6100NX

And I'm thinking of upgrading the video card to a ATI Rage 128 Pro 32MB PCI VGA Video Card. PC only has a standard (not an express) PCI slot. Would the card help any?

I don't think so.

If I were you I'd go shopping for a Geforce PCI card.

I know they are there,I've used one myself when I was

simming on a PIII 500,and back then it did make a difference.

It also had more memory,64mb as opposed to 32.

And it was a newer chip, too.

cheers

that is imho a better option.

but,as always,go with what you feel is right,

because you'll have to fly it.

If memory serves me right I had a Geforce mx something or other,

but that is ancient stuff now.

I think that one might help.

And it is probably better then the shared videomemory you have now.

Thanks. After looking at my options, I think I'm just going to start saving for a new computer. Technology advances fast, and it seems like my current PC will soon be no better than a hamster wheel hooked up to a monitor.

Thanks for the help Tom.
