Kurt Wood 938215 Posted August 16, 2005 at 12:17 AM Posted August 16, 2005 at 12:17 AM I can get onto my sqawkbox okay, but then once my FS2004 is opened and I try to connect to a multiplayer mode server, nothing pops up. I don't get the Squawkbox server or anything. I have tried serval IP addresses, localhost, and get nothing. I can't even sit in on an observer session. I downloaded Servinfo to see if that would help and still have nothing. I'm an idiot when it comes to this stuff, but I really want to try this stuff out, can someone help me with specific instructions PLEASE? Also, I'm not sure what the problem is with my mic, but I can get it to recognize voice. If you can help me out with that too, I'd appreciate it. Lennart Vedin Posted August 16, 2005 at 08:05 AM Posted August 16, 2005 at 08:05 AM > I try to connect to a multiplayer mode server, nothing pops up I think this problem come due to firewall/antivirus. Cause FS make a TCP/IP connection internee computer at IP address 127.0.0.1 You may try uninstall Antirirus and/or try an other firewall. E.g. XP SP2 built in firewall should work fine with Multiplayer internee connection. Some antivirus is not possible to turn off such as McAfee. They are protected to "external turn off". Then the antivirus must be uninstalled. Also check your Direct X version. DirectX 9.0 c (or latest) are recommended in this forum. Some general info: If you have a router or multimodem with built in firewall. Then turn off all firewall in PC, open and forward UDP port 3290 in the router (only needed to hear voice not broken, not needed to connect). Firewall: Make sure you have a firewall at your computer You must have firewall active in your computer (if not have a router) or you will get virus when PC is connected to internet. Antivirus: Antivirus can 'cause and have 'cause problem. You may run SB3 on internet without antivirus, I just cant see any risk at all in this. While the risk start when using common types of program such as common Web browsers, E-mail clients, msn, which virus are created for. However the risk is still not big if keep into a few known web-sites. _________________ / Lennart Vedin /
