Todd Scull 998257 Posted July 17, 2009 at 10:26 PM Posted July 17, 2009 at 10:26 PM Okay, tech detective, here are the facts: I've been running FS9 without any CTD problems until today. I am running this on an HP Pavilion dv 1000(may not be relevant, but you never know). Last night, I unplugged my computer in mid flight (not connected to VATSIM) to shut it off...yes, yes...not a good thing. Also, I recently installed a new livery for my Overland A300 (aka Simmer's Sky). Not sure that is relevant, but it is the latest thing I have changed in FS9. Okay...here is a narrative of what happens. I double-click the desktop icon and get the usual 3 "Possibly Incompatible" warnings for FSSOUND.DLL, sbimage.dll and SOARRec.dll. This is typical and I click "yes" to load them. After the last one, the start-up screen vanishes and, poof, no FS9. Okay, any ideas? Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted July 17, 2009 at 11:28 PM Posted July 17, 2009 at 11:28 PM any errors you get is not normal, as it shouldnt be doin it the FSSound.dll you have to add to the [oldmodules] section in FS9.cfg rest may have to be added aswell, usually whatever brought those files will tell you to do this in theyre manuals. the CTD can be from anything new you might have added. start working your way backwards from the very recent and youll find whats doing it. its usually a corrupt file
