VATUSA Anniversary and Appreciation Night - 8/1/09 - 23-03z

VATUSA celebrates 8 years this coming weekend as we host the VATUSA Anniversary and Appreciation Night event. This event features four different locations with one theme in common: Gateways. America is known for its many gateways to new discoveries and America itself is its own gateway as it was discovered as a new world a few hundred years ago. VATUSA also provides new gateways into Air Traffic Control on the VATSIM network and puts forth 100% effort into making your experience within VATUSA airspace a positive one. Because VATUSA cannot run without its pilots, each of the four featured gateway airports hosts one or two virtual airline sponsors that will spotlight that airport during the event. The four airports and sponsoring Virtual Airlines are shown below:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beginning late Friday evening and running through early Monday morning, there will be a forum topic open with a link provided. The topic will be "VATUSA Anniversary Appreciations". The purpose of this topic is in the title itself. We are asking for as many appreciation posts as possible to be posted within this topic over the course of the weekend. We know there are some people on VATSIM, specifically VATUSA, who work hard to keep things running and this is a chance to make sure they get recognized and appreciated for the hard work they do, voluntarily, on the VATSIM network. You could thank a staff member, an instructor, a mentor, a VA, VATUSA staff, VATSIM staff, anyone you can think of that you appreciate their work will do.

 

That topic will appear within the next few hours but will be locked until Friday evening. When it opens, fill it with your posts of appreciation. Let's try to make the topic burst at its seams with posts of appreciation. Come Monday morning, the topic will be closed once again with a final appreciation from myself for all the posts that had been made over the weekend. So, come out and support VATUSA this weekend by flying for the Anniversary and Appreciation event as well as submitting your posts of appreciation for those you believe work hard to make your VATSIM/VATUSA experience excellent!
