Donald Abernathy 1120575 Posted August 6, 2009 at 08:49 PM Posted August 6, 2009 at 08:49 PM I've been working my way through the "Getting started with the Virtual Radar Client (VRC)" help page (http://www.metacraft.com/VRC/docs/VRC%20Observers%20guide.pdf) but have hit a snag. In item #4, it states: 4. Download the radar map for the area you want to observe. These maps are known as sector files, and are available on the websites of the individual VATSIM divisions (see the links on the right hand column of http://www.vatsim.net). The UK sector files can be found at http://www.vatsimuk. org on the Downloads page. The UK area file covers the whole of the UK and can be found in Downloads>sector files>CTR-TMA. You may also want to download a more detailed file for particular airports. The link to the VATNA (http://vatna.net/) link on the right hand side of the VATSIM home page is giving me an error message ("Error establishing a database connection") and this is where I believe the link for the sector files are located (I can't find them anywhere else). Is this the correct link? If so, is the server down (if it is, it's been down for most of the day)? I'm looking for the ZME sector file. Thanks in advance, Donnie
Michael Hodge Jr 961044 Posted August 6, 2009 at 08:56 PM Posted August 6, 2009 at 08:56 PM The sector files can be found on the individual ARTCC's websites, usually under "Controller Tools" or "Downloads" You can find the web addresses to those ARTCCs on the vatusa website (www.vatusa.net) on the bottom of the main page. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask! Michael D. Hodge Jr
Donald Abernathy 1120575 Posted August 6, 2009 at 09:20 PM Author Posted August 6, 2009 at 09:20 PM If it's there, I can't find it. I went to the Albuquerque site and theirs is right where you'd think it should be, but the Memphis one is no where to be found. I now remember why I started this once before a couple of years ago and went on to find another ATC site. It's an Easter egg hunt to find all of the downloads you need to get in order to get started. Thanks for your help. Donnie
Michael Hodge Jr 961044 Posted August 6, 2009 at 09:39 PM Posted August 6, 2009 at 09:39 PM Go here: http://www.vzmeartcc.org/pages/public.php?module=contact and send an email to the ATM inquiring about the sector file. I'm sure he'd be glad to help! Michael D. Hodge Jr
