cant see other aircraft when they are sitting next to you

can anyone tell why i cant see other aircraft when online even when they are sitting right next to me i have done this twice im new to vatsim i use fs04 and sb what am im not doing right someone help plx ths George UPS156

Is Flight simulator connected to the Squawkbox session? check under flight->Multiplayer. If that says "connect...", then you need to search with either a blank IP address or 127.0.0.1 . If it says "Disconnect...", then I'm not sure what the problem might be.
