Here is my famous response to people that say "No ATC is online" when there is in fact ATC online (the Netherlands included):

You must be blind...

Try download programs such as:

ServInfo

VATSpy

If you already have those programs, maybe you're just looking at the wrong time. Busy times in Europe are anywhere from 18/19z -> 21z

Hallo Peter,

check out http://www.dutchvacc.nl for the booked times of dutch atc,

they have quite a strong presence between 20.00 and 22.00

many evenings.

You can check the bookings in vroute as well I believe.

Also, don't forget it's high summer so most controllers are outside as are

most of the pilots.

cheers

Tom.

As Tom said above Peter, you have most chance of finding ATC online between 20:00 and 22:00 local time.

Peter: on dutchvacc.nl click on "Amsterdam info" in the menu. There you will find if any ATC has booked for the current day. Just keep an eye on it during the day, often controllers book somewhere in the afternoon. Looking forward to see you on Schiphol.

You don't only have to fly in the netherlands. You can fly anywhere in the world as VATSIM is a connected network.

The UK only being a short hop away you could quite easily fly from any of th eairports in the UK over to Amsterdam, or vice versa.

I must agree that sometimes I do give harsh answers.

My apologies,

Spot on Peter. Usually in their ATIS they say which airports they're covering.

Mostly the major airports too.

Remember: If you see Centre's online but not in EHAA, and if you're at an airport in the EHAA FIR, they can't give you service.

That might have been EURM_CTR. Especially for this: read the Controller Info to see what he is controlling.

you can also use Vroute.net you can see

are flying and you can make and book a flightplan
