I tried to get into the VATSIM experience back in the day, and I am just now starting to pick things up again and try to get going. I'm downloading ASRC as we speak to get started with... However, what else should I do? Where should I go to start over?

ANY help would be appreciated...

k that case visit www.VATUSA.net

hover your mouse over VATUSA HQ link then click become ATC as your probably in limbo by now.

you may or may not need to take the basic controller test. i dont know whats the procedure with members who used to be on and have gone away for awhile.

ever get certified anywhere? or still an OBS rating?

all the training info is on the vatusa site

I never got out of Observer Limbo. I think I was going to be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to either DFW or ATL, though, for my training... Can't remember.

If you still have questions after viewing the material on our site feel free to shoot me an email. I'd be happy to help you get set up with an ARTCC.

I just tried to become a member again and it said I was already a member. So, I tried to log in. No dice.

What should I do?

So while I'm waiting on a response from Alex, I guess I'll continue to post and strike up some conversation.

I'm really hoping to get posted to Memphis. lol.

I would also have a look at VRC if I was you, far more intuitive than ASRC.

I had VRC back when I first got started with this. However, the display is really messed up with my screen settings, and I'm honestly not sure how to fix that. Meaning, borders, tools, etc. don't show up like they should. The view I see in ASRC when I open it is, I [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ume, what I should be seeing.

If you can help me out, though, with the VRC thing? I'm listening...

need to turn down your hardware acceleration. sometimes it doesnt like it. right click on desktop go to display settings, advanced, troubleshooting, you should see hardware acceleration slider, turn it down to about the second bar. apply. then restart VRC, should be good

It's the same for Windows Vista, right?

Okay. I'm gonna pick a copy of VRC back up. If this works? I'm totally using VRC, because I can kinda remember how to use it... ASRC is getting a little confusing. Heh. And the lack of instructions to look at doesn't help!

Thanks guys.

Prooooooooooblem.

Apparently, my current display driver doesn't allow changes to be made to the hardware acceleration settings.

It's apparently an Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile.

Any one got any ideas for this?

In all seriousness, did the procedure in that topic solve your problem?

It actually did. I hadn't even considered killing the device driver in the manager toolbox.

I appreciate it.

I logged in to kinda look back at my old school stomping ground at ZTL. Looks like a pretty heavy load on the ground for departures tonight.
