Johnathan McKiney 973523 Posted August 29, 2009 at 04:34 AM Posted August 29, 2009 at 04:34 AM I tried to get into the VATSIM experience back in the day, and I am just now starting to pick things up again and try to get going. I'm downloading ASRC as we speak to get started with... However, what else should I do? Where should I go to start over? ANY help would be appreciated... Wycliffe Barrett Posted August 29, 2009 at 08:04 AM Posted August 29, 2009 at 08:04 AM I would also have a look at VRC if I was you, far more intuitive than ASRC. Johnathan McKiney 973523 Posted August 29, 2009 at 11:21 PM Author Posted August 29, 2009 at 11:21 PM I had VRC back when I first got started with this. However, the display is really messed up with my screen settings, and I'm honestly not sure how to fix that. Meaning, borders, tools, etc. don't show up like they should. The view I see in ASRC when I open it is, I [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ume, what I should be seeing. If you can help me out, though, with the VRC thing? I'm listening... Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted August 29, 2009 at 11:55 PM Posted August 29, 2009 at 11:55 PM need to turn down your hardware acceleration. sometimes it doesnt like it. right click on desktop go to display settings, advanced, troubleshooting, you should see hardware acceleration slider, turn it down to about the second bar. apply. then restart VRC, should be good
Johnathan McKiney 973523 Posted August 30, 2009 at 01:22 AM Author Posted August 30, 2009 at 01:22 AM It's the same for Windows Vista, right? Okay. I'm gonna pick a copy of VRC back up. If this works? I'm totally using VRC, because I can kinda remember how to use it... ASRC is getting a little confusing. Heh. And the lack of instructions to look at doesn't help! Thanks guys. Johnathan McKiney 973523 Posted August 30, 2009 at 01:32 AM Author Posted August 30, 2009 at 01:32 AM Prooooooooooblem. Apparently, my current display driver doesn't allow changes to be made to the hardware acceleration settings. It's apparently an Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile. Any one got any ideas for this?
