Thomas Mathieu 998318 Posted September 25, 2009 at 01:52 AM Posted September 25, 2009 at 01:52 AM A word of advise for the incoming VATUSA director: Stay the course, and be very transparent. By that I mean, keep open communications with your members, be honest and lead your Division no matter the [Mod - lovely stuff] that gets thrown at you. Every DD has "their goals"....so do the members so keep them involved. Charles Rizzi 810637 Posted September 28, 2009 at 04:34 AM Posted September 28, 2009 at 04:34 AM This network as always been driven to keep things fun while being as realistic as possible. That balancing act causes many headaches for all sides of the leadership, how do we keep remembering this is a game, when it is such a huge undertaking to operate this place. Having watched this evolve for nine years now this is exactly it Karl. The never ending issue that VATSIM (or frankly even SATCO before) can't seem to find any lasting peace with is that those who want to just come in and play the game for a bit then move on to something else are, by definition, not the ones who will be donating 100's or 1,000's of hours of their lives to keep the "huge undertaking" running. No matter what any manager decides in the end what can or can't be accomplished is determined by how many hours of their lives the "p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]ionate" are willing to give. This depends on how they are treated and the degree to which they share the "vision" (whatever that may be and however clearly and credibly it may be communicated). I almost never get involved in these types of threads but couldn't resist this one. Best all, Charles Rizzi
