Matt Booker Posted September 28, 2009 at 04:04 PM Posted September 28, 2009 at 04:04 PM Michal, Is there a fix for ''Error fetching data from server: 500'' Thanks Matt BookerVATSIM Supervisor | Team 2 Lead[email protected]
Michal Rok Posted September 29, 2009 at 05:38 AM Posted September 29, 2009 at 05:38 AM Actually, error 500 means something terrible happening in the server, and I wish I knew how you got this message (unless it was a temporary thing and no longer occurs). Matt Booker Posted September 29, 2009 at 09:43 AM Author Posted September 29, 2009 at 09:43 AM Unfourtunately, I am still getting ''Error 500'' after following a similar fix from the vRoute Forum. I have re-installed vRoute countless times and nothing changes. Any Ideas? Matt BookerVATSIM Supervisor | Team 2 Lead[email protected]
Michal Rok Posted September 29, 2009 at 02:29 PM Posted September 29, 2009 at 02:29 PM I need more information about when you get it and how it happens. This error is server-side, no patches or reinstallations will help. Michal vroute.net founder
Matt Booker Posted September 29, 2009 at 02:35 PM Author Posted September 29, 2009 at 02:35 PM I Click on the vRoute icon, It appears to open but no data is produced during this time, the vRoute screen opens and the message appears about the Error 500, I can go no further. Michal Rok Posted September 29, 2009 at 02:57 PM Posted September 29, 2009 at 02:57 PM OK. Did you use the software before, or was it always like that? Michal vroute.net founder
Matt Booker Posted September 29, 2009 at 03:26 PM Author Posted September 29, 2009 at 03:26 PM I have used vRoute before, I have the same problem on my other PC, both have run the program in the past. Michal Rok Posted September 29, 2009 at 03:57 PM Posted September 29, 2009 at 03:57 PM Matt, I've found evidence in my logfiles showing that there was an error 500 indeed, but I couldn't reproduce it on my copy of vroute.info attached to your account. Would you be able to download a debugging tool named Fiddler (http://www.fiddler2.com/fiddler2/) and start vroute once while having Fiddler running in background? It will record website traffic. You can then save this log to a file - and if you could please send me the file by email ([email protected]) I'm quite sure I will be able to understand better what is going on. Michal Rok Posted September 29, 2009 at 05:15 PM Posted September 29, 2009 at 05:15 PM OK, all is clear now. Your computer is rejecting cookies we send, and the 500 error is caused by unauthorized request for information (as you appear like a user who never logged in). It might help to add vroute's server to trusted pages in Internet Explorer. Please start IE, go to Tools | Options | Security | Trusted Sites and add http://data.vroute.net (note that it is http, not https).
