Geir Grønlien 875065 Posted October 3, 2009 at 06:06 PM Posted October 3, 2009 at 06:06 PM Good eve. I'm trying to set up ES on a laptop, but ES wont connect. I push the connect button, "VATSIM" shows in the upper left corner for a second, but disapears again. It wont connect! In the "message dialog" there are no errors, but it says that the VATSIM data is loaded: 0 pilots and 0 atc. What I've tried/checked: - All firewalls are off - There are two other computers connected to the same nettwork, where ES works fine. One laptop and one stationary. - All servers on the serverlist are tested. - CID, p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word, name and callsigns are tested. - The "server" chat-tab is not showing up=no errors. - I've even tried the same stuff on a third laptop, it wont work there either... Any suggestions? The problematic computers are running Windows 7 7100, if it makes any difference. Any idea? Every time you connect, the server sends some lawyer messages, which appear in the server chat-tab, so that should appear on a good connection. One thing you can do to verify this is to go to the VATSIM statistics web site: The statistics site records all connections made, so you can see if a proper connection was actually made. One thing I would ask you to test, to be sure, is to manually enter a server IP address in the server box, instead of selecting from the list. You can use Servinfo or VAT-Spy to get the list of active VATSIM servers. Can you connect if you enter the IP address manually? In the "message dialog" there are no errors, but it says that the VATSIM data is loaded: 0 pilots and 0 atc. That is used to report when EuroScope reloads the list of all pilots and controllers online, so you can see who is flying outside your airspace. It sounds like that is not loading properly, which normally means the URL is not good. Try http://www.klain.net/sidata/vatsim-data.txt (in Other SET->General Settings->who is online URL). Good luck! Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted November 15, 2009 at 12:59 PM Posted November 15, 2009 at 12:59 PM During the last weeks/months some server IPs have changed. If no response at all is received from the server, it's most likely an outdated IP. http://www.klain.net/sidata/vatsim-servers.txt is an actual server list.
