Nick Johnston Posted October 9, 2009 at 03:38 PM Posted October 9, 2009 at 03:38 PM Sunday Night Ops for Sunday 11th October 2009: Open Skies! For this week's SNO the skies really are the limit: our activity is concentrated on NZZC - the entire mainland New Zealand airspace! Controllers can take their pick of any positions they're rated to staff. Pilots can choose any flight or flights they want to take. The goal is to cover as much of the country as possible with ATC service, and the challenge is then to our pilots to keep the controllers busy all evening. The last fortnight's rotten weather is moving away and it's a perfect opportunity to take to the skies. Event Times: Sunday 11th October 2009 19:00-23:30 NZDT / 06:00-10:30 UTC / 17:00-21:30 AEDT Flight Routes: Any involving a mainland New Zealand airport; see the VATNZ Airspace Reference site for charts and standard routes. Charts/Airspace Info: General Airspace information and details for all VATNZ airports available from the VATNZ Airspace Reference site. ATC and Flight Bookings: To reserve a particular ATC position, or to advertise your flight intentions please book using vroute - large numbers of bookings in vroute attract additional traffic, and this is the best way for controllers and pilots alike to ensure that there are plenty of the other nearby on the night.
