We will recreate this sad moment by performing these 's[Mod - lovely stuff]flights' from Amsterdam(EHAM) to Tuscon(KTUS). All pilots are invited to fly along and say goodbye to the last B744 freighters in Martinair colors. tom van der elst Posted October 30, 2009 at 03:20 AM Posted October 30, 2009 at 03:20 AM Uh,those 744's are(or were) going for storage, aren(weren)'t they .. and even more,I believe they've been there for a while already if I'm not mistaken. Supposedly MP struck a deal with the lessor. MP is now flying the ERF's KL cannot find work for, iirc, and the 744BCF's are parked in Arizona desert until such time MP thinks they can be operated again. Also lots of talk about MP taking over KL's freightroutes altogether after having been taken over by KL. I.E Klm would handle the pax and MP would do the freight, whilst possibly keeping the paxruns they do already. cheers Tom.

The aircraft were leased by Martinair and will be returned to the owner/leasecompany. Martinair will start flying KLM cargo routes (and some Air France) with the ERF's owned by KLM. If I'm not mistaken they will also start service to Nairobi with the B763 (pax) besides the other pax routes to the americas.
