David Wilson-Okamura 91149 Posted September 11, 2005 at 11:00 PM Posted September 11, 2005 at 11:00 PM Last week there was an item on the AVSIM homepage about topo scenery for New Zealand http://www.redbarent.com/nztopo-overview.htm. Haven't seen anyone comment on this yet, so here are some screenshots I made this afternoon: These are not all high art: main goal this afternoon was just to check out features of the new topo scenery, such as accurate roads, water features, and bridges. Admittedly, much of this is obscured, either by picturesque haze or gorgeous, volumetric clouds. Can you tell I was having a blast? Screenshots were taken over the central part of the North Island, between New Plymouth and Great Barrier Island. Time is early afternoon, using yesterday's weather (from weather archive at ActiveSky). Clouds and water are by Peter Wilding (Flight Environment). Mesh is 76m freeware by Christian Stock. Landcl[Mod - Happy Thoughts] is freeware by Ian Thatcher. Aircraft is RealAir Marchetti SF.260.
