Itay Zecharia 882865 Posted November 2, 2009 at 08:30 AM Posted November 2, 2009 at 08:30 AM After staring FS9.exe, I can see the loadscreen loading, and one sec later FS exits. I didn't install anything new. Running Win XP pro. What can be the cause?
Scott DeWoody Posted November 3, 2009 at 01:36 AM Posted November 3, 2009 at 01:36 AM Sometimes the files can get corrupted, what I have done in the past when that happened to me was go into "my computer >local disk ©: > Docomeents and Settings > User > my docomeents > Flight Simulator Files and delete all the files in there, all they are, are the flight plans you have generated, and one of them may have become corrupt, and when I did this, and started FS9 it started up fine in the default aircraft and the default airfield. Worked for me, try at your own risk. Cheers Scott DeWoody CEO - American Virtual Airlines joinava dot org

Richard Gerrish Posted November 4, 2009 at 04:35 AM Posted November 4, 2009 at 04:35 AM did you install any addons prior to the crashes starting? Richard Gerrish Developer, STM Applications Group
Larry James 901346 Posted November 4, 2009 at 06:21 AM Posted November 4, 2009 at 06:21 AM Thank you for the answer. I did exactly what you wrote... and still nothing. Any other idea? Try renaming your fs9.cfg file to something else so that Flight Simulator will revert to the default and create a new one. You can find it by type %appdata%\Microsoft\fs9 into the run command box. -- L. James -- L. D. The FS creates a new FS9.cfg and then i checked if something had changed, and still nothing. It crashes with no error msg just after the loading screen. I've no idea what it can be. Itay Zecharia 882865 Posted November 4, 2009 at 06:58 PM Author Posted November 4, 2009 at 06:58 PM I must say that now I was uninsatlling FS9 completely, and then installed again - and still the same problem. What it can be now?
Itay Zecharia 882865 Posted November 4, 2009 at 07:15 PM Author Posted November 4, 2009 at 07:15 PM News! I've installed FS9 on other partition (D drive. It was before on C) and now it's working. What can be the problem?
Richard Gerrish Posted November 4, 2009 at 08:22 PM Posted November 4, 2009 at 08:22 PM i would hazard a guess at corrupt registry entries somewhere... when you uninstalled FS9 from the C drive did you remove all the add-ons first and double check that even the FS9 directory was deleted? some MS(uninstallers uite a few other companies as well now i think of it) have a nasty habit of not deleting everything from your drives so the traces still remain to mess up uninstalls. Itay Zecharia 882865 Posted November 4, 2009 at 10:09 PM Author Posted November 4, 2009 at 10:09 PM I didn't check it, and the FS9 wasn't deleted. But I'm still wonder what can be the problem.
