Curtis Platt 1090804 Posted November 2, 2009 at 11:20 PM Posted November 2, 2009 at 11:20 PM I am trying to do this on my own but for the life of me I cannot find a list of servers to join or what radio frequencies to use. Once I connect via the SB plugin in Xplane is that it? Do I have to activate any other VATSIM software? Clueless and Thankful

Charan Kumar Posted November 2, 2009 at 11:51 PM Posted November 2, 2009 at 11:51 PM Hi Curtis...no other s/w is required, the SB plug-in is more than enuf. Have you had a look at http://www.vatsim.net/prc? It is not in particular for XPlane, but it is generic for all of VATSIM clients. Then you can ask specific qns and folks will be glad to help you. Give the docomeentation that comes with XSB a quick read and then u will know how to pull up a list of frequencies that are available at the location where u r logged on. Then u can tune them using the radios on XPlane and listen and/or chat. But first start with the PRC, it's the best place really to start. Cheers!! Charan Kumar Posted November 3, 2009 at 02:04 AM Posted November 3, 2009 at 02:04 AM No worries...Btw I didn't have this URL handy earlier, but here goes: http://sourceforge.net/projects/qutescoop/ This displays all positions in VATSIM that are staffed...as in when u check and if they are staffed. This will give you an idea where to fly, that is if you are not particular about the location. Just remember, don't be on any rwy when u connect to VATSIM, but that's covered in the PRC. Cheers!! Charan Kumar Posted January 7, 2010 at 11:13 PM Posted January 7, 2010 at 11:13 PM The client for XP9 can be found at http://xsquawkbox.net/xsb. Start there and the docomeentation is pretty straight fwd. It's just a few files to copy here and there, which the doc is very clear about. Good luck, and welcome to XP on VATSIM!! Charan Kumar Posted January 19, 2010 at 07:22 PM Posted January 19, 2010 at 07:22 PM Did you look at the XSB docomeentation? It is very easy actually, copy the XSB plugin and a couple of folders into the Resources/Plug-ins and you are pretty much ready to go. Marshall Fordon 1126797 Posted January 24, 2010 at 04:26 AM Posted January 24, 2010 at 04:26 AM I tried that, I coppied the whole download that I got from XSB, and put it into the plug ins folder and tested it, nothing. I then placed the XSB download into the plugin admin folder, nothing. Did I do something wrong. I do have the latest update on XPlane 9.
Charan Kumar Posted January 24, 2010 at 07:14 AM Posted January 24, 2010 at 07:14 AM What were you expecting see when u say nothing? Have you looked at the Plug-ins menu and do u see a "XSquawkbox" in there? If not then there could be a problem with the installation. Just post in the XSquawkbox forum and Wade might be able to help you with troubleshooting it!!
