Andrew Podner 994055 Posted November 15, 2009 at 06:53 PM Posted November 15, 2009 at 06:53 PM To all: Oakland Oceanic is back online and ready to accept controllers onto the roster. As a reminder, there are no home controllers in ZAK, everyone is considered a visiting controller. Special thanks to all those who helped put things back together including but not limited to: Alex Bailey Abel Tuinei Tom Seeley Michael Hodge Paul Biderman Ian Elchitz Curley Bryant If I forgot to mention someone, sorry about that. Thanks again and we are all looking forward to seeing the skies over the Pacific staffed. Great job everyone! http://zak.vatusa.net is the web address. Sean Harrison Posted November 15, 2009 at 08:46 PM Posted November 15, 2009 at 08:46 PM If we were on the old roster, do we have to re-apply? Sean C1/O P3
Andrew Podner 994055 Posted November 15, 2009 at 09:54 PM Author Posted November 15, 2009 at 09:54 PM If we were on the old roster, do we have to re-apply? Anyone who has controlled ZAK_FSS in the last year (10/22/08 to 10/21/2009) will be able to return to ZAK with their privileges restored. Those who have not controlled in that time will need to go through a check out procedure to have their controlling privileges restored. We have a list of those folks and when the airspace is reopened, we will deal with it as those persons reapply. Francisco Obregon 1004310 Posted November 19, 2009 at 06:33 PM Posted November 19, 2009 at 06:33 PM That's funny. I've put hours up on ZAK, in fact helped on it, and I'm not even on that roster
Christopher Mauro Posted November 19, 2009 at 09:20 PM Posted November 19, 2009 at 09:20 PM Thanks for the notice Andrew! I re-applied because I was a mentor and the FE at ZAK before it closed down and now I am re-established. Chris Mauro

Sebastien Bartosz Posted November 23, 2009 at 09:35 PM Posted November 23, 2009 at 09:35 PM I'm actually a ZAK oceanic controller. But I'm not on the roster... Was mentored by Tyler Goeggel with Chris Mauro present on teamspeak. It hasnt been a while since I controlled ZAK. New York ARTCC

Sebastien Bartosz Posted November 24, 2009 at 05:52 AM Posted November 24, 2009 at 05:52 AM Why would I need to fill out the application to become a visiting controller when I'm already one? New York ARTCC
