Installing XSquawkbox

I am new to all of this and am unable to install the XSquawkbox plugin on X-plane version 9.4. I have tried following all of the instructions by placing the downloaded file in the plugins folder but nothing shows up in the plugins menu when I open up x-plane. Can someone explain how exactly am I supposed to install this or could this be a compatibility problem since the 9.4 version seems pretty new.

It's not a compatibility problem.

 

You should be moving the CONTENTS of the "for plugins folder" to your X-plane/Resources/plugins folder. That means you move what's in there, not the folder itself.

 

So in your X-Plane/Resources/plugins folder, you should have the XSquawkBox_VATSIM.xpl file and the XSquawkBox Resources folder.
