I kept asking this to myself. If I join VATUSA, to be specific I wan to join Cleveland ARTCC. Will there be a mentor/instructor available for me given that I am an overseas member and residing in Southeast Asia (Philippines). I am looking forward into joining VATUSA again!

Kind Regards,

Romano Lara

Romano,

Your best bet would be to email the Cleveland TA or ATM directly, in case they miss this post. They are the only people who would be able to answer your question definitively. There are a good number of VATUSA controllers who are overseas, but whether Cleveland has any, particularly in an INS or Mentor position, is anybody's guess. You can often get lucky too and find a member in the USA with a weird schedule (heck, I used to give sessions at 3, 4, 5am Pacific time during the summers ), so that's always a possibility as well.

Good luck! Hope it works out.

Hi Romano,

Not trying to steal a controller from Cleveland but I am the training admin at ZAB 'Albuquerque' , myself and one of my staff instructors are usually up at the wee hours (US) time.

I work a late afternoon shift, and my instructor I think is addicted to VATSIM.

In any case, glad to have you interested in VATUSA.

That sounds interesting Brian. I am still to choose where ARTCC to join actually, my decision is not yet final. The primary thing I am looking for an ARTCC is instructor availability actually, so this is just real great.

Let's see.
