get METAR from server

In certain situations I cannot get a METAR from the server. Other controllers do get it so it is available on the server (also tried the manual URL http://metar.vatsim.net/data/metar.php?id=EDDF)

 

For example:

I try to connect, but the position is taken, so the server responds "callsign in use"

METARs show "loading..."

I connect to another position

METARs still "loading..."

 

There are other circomestances also, but these are more hardly to reproduce.

 

I tried to F2 several times, but the METAR does not seem to get newly requested from the server, it remains "loading..." until after about half an hour a new METAR is available on the server.

 

Is there some trick to get it reloaded any way?

When you are logged in the metar request is sent and the timstamp is stored. It is sent only about 20 minutes later to ask about an update. In this case you get disconnected after the request is sent and currently no way to reset it. I will record it as a bug to reset all metar requests on disconnects.
