Video Quality

Hey I just used fraps and recorded a couple of videos but my thing is, when I use virtual dub to compress the files my video quality goes down. Is there any special settings for quality that I need to be on?

What do you mean by quality goes down? Which Codec are you using to compress the video and at what bitrate? do you have the CCCP codec pack installed, that'll give you the most options..

That' weird yeah...I tested that out on virtualdub and it's doing the same for me, turning pixels into huge blocks. I personally use sorenson squeeze for all my compression jobs, and virtualdub exclusively for uncompression. The only thing that seemed to help was using the multip[Mod - Happy Thoughts] mode for xvid but the best I got out of virtual dub was using the microsoft 1 codec. When I use sorenson squeeze I can get just about the same quality with a lot less bandwidth.......so I would definitely recommend using something else.
