Jeff Feldman 1040149 Posted December 12, 2009 at 11:47 AM Posted December 12, 2009 at 11:47 AM Hey Guys, I just finished my computer build yesterday...and no problems until now. I have been trying to install FS9, and whenever I open/close the CD drive the computer just restarts out of nowhere. Any ideas? I have a 750W Corsair power supply, and a Sony CD/DVD drive. Jeff By the way, this computer is only a day old...and I had no trouble installing Windows 7, but now, problems have begun to arose.
Gary Morris 1090995 Posted December 13, 2009 at 01:51 AM Posted December 13, 2009 at 01:51 AM Hmmm... hardware wise I guess you are running SATA yes? Software wise, i suppose it could be a driver conflict with another device, but that is highly unlikely. Do you have another CD/DVD drive you can plug in and test? Ernesto Alvarez 818262 Posted December 13, 2009 at 02:28 AM Posted December 13, 2009 at 02:28 AM a restart/shutdown when opening the CD drive tends to indicate a possible lack of power from the PSU, you said you have 750w tho, should be plenty, maybe a short somewhere? or a fail safe in the system, could indicate something else
