Jordan Heyburn 1123282 Posted December 16, 2009 at 05:41 PM Posted December 16, 2009 at 05:41 PM Hi gang, I have a serious problem with my autopilot with each aircraft I would fly online. Firstly, Once i am airborne things are running smooth... I engage the Autopilot and it goes to the heading and height etc... but the IAS wont ever work... after trying different aeroplanes and panels I cant seem to get this problem sorted. I have tried everything. I really wish I could get this sorted ASAP. Jordan

If only online, which Pilot Client are you running? Do you have other addons installed? -- L. James -- L. D. I have tried everything. IAS should be controlled by the autothrottle, not the autopilot. Cheers! Luke ... I spawn hundreds of children a day. They are daemons because they are easier to kill. All though i have tried it on the normal aircraft you get on FS2004. You failed to mention if it "worked" on the normal acft on FS2004, and by normal you mean default , I hope!! There is a key combination for AutoThrottle in FS9, Alt + R or Shift + R, I forget, one of them will engage the autothrottle and that should help you hold the A/T at the set speed!! That , plus the version of Flight Simulator would most likely solve the riddle. That's why I asked that in the original response. -- L. James -- L. D. Paul Biderman Posted December 17, 2009 at 01:35 PM Posted December 17, 2009 at 01:35 PM Your pitot tube is probably becoming frozen over at altitude. Try turning pitot heat on before you take off. Paul Biderman ZAN DATM
Charan Kumar Posted December 18, 2009 at 04:47 AM Posted December 18, 2009 at 04:47 AM +1 on Paul's suggestion, somebody very recently had made a similar post which was resolved by it, although I am not sure why it would happen online. Larry, he already mentioned he was using FS2004!! When is your next Flight||VATSIM HitSquad Member, ZOA/ZAK/GANDER/P1

Doesn't have anything to do with online or offline if that is the problem. The pitot tube freezes over due to the cold air at altitude that's being pushed into it. Now if the problem is only happening online then that is strange, and then my suggestion is probably not the answer. Luke Kolin Posted December 18, 2009 at 02:43 PM Posted December 18, 2009 at 02:43 PM This would be a lot easier if we knew what "but the IAS wont ever work" means. Cheers! Luke ...
