Reece Hunter Posted December 20, 2009 at 07:14 PM Posted December 20, 2009 at 07:14 PM Last I heard, this was a big hit. Perhaps, we can combine our collective resources to make it a regular event. vACC Philippines would certainly make whatever resources we have available, just let us know. __________________ Reece Hunter vACC Philippines Chief ___________________ Reece Hunter vACC Philippines Chief
Ray Dotulung Posted December 21, 2009 at 02:14 AM Posted December 21, 2009 at 02:14 AM Yup.. last event was a big blast!! I can see ppl's from Indonesia all the way up to China and Japan are joining, even some are from India and outside Asia are joining. I was thinking would it be good if we can have some kind of "lottery system" generate randomly by system, VaCC who won the lottery will get the opportunity to host an event (for less then 2 hours of flight duration). Just a thought Happy holidays!! ------------------------------------------------------ Indonesia VaCC | Virtual Airlines of Indonesia

Romano Lara Posted December 21, 2009 at 02:41 AM Posted December 21, 2009 at 02:41 AM There has been an inconsistency with South East Asian Skies, it has been around back in 2007's but it disappeared recently, I don't think we ever had South East Asian Skies in 2009. When I thought this should be an annual event. I'd love to see this again. Romano LaravACC Philippines, Manager - Training & Standards
Alfred Tang Posted December 21, 2009 at 03:31 AM Posted December 21, 2009 at 03:31 AM It would be nice to see another inter-divisonal event to be held again in the sky of Asia. Speaking of inviting other divisions outside VATSEA, I'd love to see Eastern Wind to be held again some time in 2010. Remember how spectacular it was when many of the Asian FIRs lit up on servinfo? Jackie Wan 897094 Posted January 5, 2010 at 06:10 PM Posted January 5, 2010 at 06:10 PM Hong Kong and Ho Chi Minh FIR are always ready. For Hong Kong vACC, we have a regular full staff service every 2nd Saturday in each month... We have lighted up for more than a year and Taipei FIR joint us from November 2009 http://hk.vatsea.net/atc/fullstaff/index.php We can extend the coverage of the regular service if more FIRs join Jacky Wan VATSIM Hong Kong http://vatsim.hk/
Reece Hunter Posted January 6, 2010 at 05:53 AM Author Posted January 6, 2010 at 05:53 AM Sounds great! Historically, this event was held in March. If we start planning now, it should be enough time to advertise and coordinate so everyone can be involved. So far we have the following vACCs participating: - Indonesia - Thailand - Ho Chi Minh - HongKong - Manila I know VATJPN is also planning a big event in March so we have hold this at a time that is different from theirs. Shall we make it an weekend afternoon or evening event, say three to four hours (3-4 hours) long? Any suggestions? Scott DeWoody Posted January 7, 2010 at 10:42 PM Posted January 7, 2010 at 10:42 PM That's nice. Question, what are the best times for events there, zulu time of course. Any time is fine, and VATTHD will work to provide service, we would just like to know, for planning purposes. Alfred Tang Posted January 10, 2010 at 12:37 AM Posted January 10, 2010 at 12:37 AM Hi all, Seems like there is an interest in planning an event that extends out of the VATSEA boundary. To adhere to the forum rules and for the purpose of separating posts that are irrelevant to the planning of an event within VATSEA, I have created a new thread under VATASIA region forum. http://forums.vatsim.net/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=45886&p=335898#p335898 Please kindly proceed to the said thread to continue the discussion on EW2010. Thanks. p.s. I will contact the event coordinators of each division (and Mainland China development team) within this week or so to form a organizing committee Alfred Tang (934809) Director | Hong Kong VACC

Reece Hunter Posted April 14, 2010 at 05:32 AM Author Posted April 14, 2010 at 05:32 AM Back in January, the following vACCs expressed interest in joining the South East Asian Skies for 2010: - Indonesia - Thailand - Ho Chi Minh - HongKong - Manila I think we may have been distracted by the original flurry of EW2010 planning but now that the activities have subsided, there is no reason why we cannot pick this up. If your vACC is interested in participating, please post here. ___________________ Reece Hunter vACC Philippines Chief
