Kevin Kan Posted December 28, 2009 at 06:52 PM Posted December 28, 2009 at 06:52 PM Load sector file under OPEN SCT. Now opens a New Radar Display with the SCT file you choose, instead of loading it in the current ASR. Like my GOAT? Too bad, it's mine. Earl Miller Posted December 28, 2009 at 08:35 PM Posted December 28, 2009 at 08:35 PM ES does open a "new" ASR when changing SCTs.. Just open the ASR you want again. Close the "New" ASR. You'll have to select your "Runway in use" again. Returning to the old SCT all will be in place Earl Earl Miller ZLC_ARTCC / MTN073 Euroscope Development Team. Dare to fly the Rocky Mountains. Gergely Csernak Posted December 28, 2009 at 09:19 PM Posted December 28, 2009 at 09:19 PM There is no real meaning of loading an SCT to an ASR that was used for another. The ASR file holds the information about what items of the SCT should be displayed. If the SCT is completely different, then it is far better to start with a clean sheet. That is the reason why I decided so. Gergely. EuroScope developer

Kyprianos Biris Posted December 29, 2009 at 07:01 AM Posted December 29, 2009 at 07:01 AM For the cases where only the sector file version (filename) changes what I do is to have it always at a standard filename by renaming it after download i.e. ABCD.sct So every time there is a sector update I just place it in the folder with the same name and Euroscope never asks me for new .asr etc. If I want to check the sector's version I can always open it with NOTEPAD and check myself ! Gergely Csernak Posted December 29, 2009 at 07:51 AM Posted December 29, 2009 at 07:51 AM For sectorfile upgrades do not forget the new automatic download tool. That will update the sectorfile references in the ASR files automatically. Gergely. EuroScope developer
Kevin Kan Posted December 29, 2009 at 10:48 PM Author Posted December 29, 2009 at 10:48 PM what i do is load the new sector file after I update them and I don't want to close and reopen ES to have it on the same ASR, because I always check how it looks after i change something. Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted December 30, 2009 at 06:34 AM Posted December 30, 2009 at 06:34 AM Just reopen the sct file after you saved your changes. Probably the easiest way is to prepare and ASR (if necessary by using the windows editor) and always use the same filename, so for example while you are working on a file, call it "...-work.sct". After you finished, name it according to your sectorfile download versioning, and upload it for publication.
