Mark Wolpert Posted December 28, 2009 at 11:21 PM Posted December 28, 2009 at 11:21 PM I am just starting up again with Euroscope, this time with ES 3.1. I have set my range to 600nm and centered the scope in the middle of my CTR position. All around me the controllers are offline but in ES they appear online (the background is black, same as mine). Any ideas as to how to correct this problem. thanks, Mark.
Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted December 29, 2009 at 12:25 AM Posted December 29, 2009 at 12:25 AM What do you mean "they appear online"? Are you talking about the data from the servinfo feed? Mark Wolpert Posted December 29, 2009 at 02:17 AM Author Posted December 29, 2009 at 02:17 AM No, I am talking about the colour of the background of the neighbouring center controllers. It is the same color as my sector even though none of these controllers is currently online. Mark.
Karl Kornel 964857 Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:13 AM Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:13 AM hmmm, first I'd check to make sure the proper sector file is being loaded, as some things have been moved around. Next I'd check to see what EuroScope says in the Sector Ownership Setup: For the neighboring sectors, which should be listed, who does EuroScope say owns those sectors? Finally, check your display settings, and ensure that all of the SECTOR boxes are not selected! A. Karl Kornel - vZID C1, FE, and Mentor Smoke Bomb! Kyprianos Biris Posted December 29, 2009 at 08:10 AM Posted December 29, 2009 at 08:10 AM All around me the controllers are offline but in ES they appear online (the background is black, same as mine). I think you mean that regardless whether a neighbor controller is on line or not the neighboring sector border line (for hand off) has always the same color. Other SET -> Symbology Settings ... Check that Sector -> Line has different color (I have the reddish one) from any of the 3 ARTCC Boundary -> Line ones (for which I have 3 different tones of Grey). This way when a neighbor comes on line the Grey border lines where a hand off is expected become red while the next ATCO is there. I think by default Euroscope has all 4 above in the same color (can't remember, long time since 1st install) and this does not initially produce (to a newbie who may not know) this big advantage of ES to dynamically display active and inactive border lines. Someone has to change the colors between Sector & ARTCC types to see the feature in operation. Maybe that should be highlighted somehow in http://www.euroscope.hu/mediawiki/index.php?title=Symbology_Settings Sector item description if they all 4 come in same colors by default. Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted December 29, 2009 at 01:29 PM Posted December 29, 2009 at 01:29 PM I think you are getting it wrong. Only the active sector, which YOU own is highlighted. The border line changes colour if the neighbouring sector is on-line. You have: line = changes colour if the neighbouring sector is on-line active sector background = changes colour to the sector/sectors you are owning for the moment inactive sector background = this is the general radar screen background EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers

Mark Wolpert Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:29 PM Author Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:29 PM OK, I have got it to work. 1) I needed to go into Symbology settings and change color of the inactive sector background (from being same black as active sector background). 2) In display settings, set the sector I am controlling. Now it works. thanks, Mark.
Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:34 PM Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:34 PM No, the active sector should be set automatically based on your primary frequency, not by using the display settings dialog. If you need to go via display setting, then there is still something wrong with your config. The sector option in the display settings dialog is mainly for sectorfile creators but not for controlling. Mark Wolpert Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:40 PM Author Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:40 PM OK it works now. For testing I did not set my primary frequency so that was the problem. thanks for the help. Mark.
