Kris Thomson Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:37 PM Posted December 29, 2009 at 04:37 PM I have set up the ATIS using the EGTT euroscope ATIS file. Then I insert EGPH and then show metar, all is fine. I have inputed the correct URL for the ATIS, and then I press the TEST URL button to which I get the following error Error 1100: METAR (metar) field empty Not sure how to fix this! Thanks in advance for your help! Kris Kris Thomson C1 CTP Planning Team member VATSIM UK Live! Organiser Follow VATSIM UK Live! on Twitter

Kris Thomson Posted December 29, 2009 at 11:19 PM Author Posted December 29, 2009 at 11:19 PM Yeah it is: http://uniatis.net/atis.php?arr=$arrrwy($atisairport)&dep=$deprwy($atisairport) &apptype=ILS&info=$atiscode&metar=$metar($atisairport) Kris Thomson C1 CTP Planning Team member VATSIM UK Live! Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted December 30, 2009 at 06:48 AM Posted December 30, 2009 at 06:48 AM Working fine for me. Can you double check your URL again and confirm that you did receive a metar before you hit the test button? Gergely Csernak Posted December 30, 2009 at 08:03 AM Posted December 30, 2009 at 08:03 AM I tried EGTT this morning and I had the same result. I displayed the metar for EGTT using the F2 EGTT command. I received an answer from the servers that 'EGTT - no weather data'. It seems that no METAR is available for that airport at the moment. Unfortznately in this case your URL http://uniatis.net/atis.php?arr=$arrrwy($atisairport)&dep=$deprwy($atisairport) is converted to a really unusable one http://uniatis.net/atis.php?arr=&dep= and surely the UniATIS will not be able to do anything with these data. I am sorry to say, that automatic voice ATIS only works if METAR is available for that airport. Gergely. EuroScope developer
Stephan Boerner 945550 Posted December 30, 2009 at 08:20 AM Posted December 30, 2009 at 08:20 AM No Gergely, EGTT is no airport. EGTT is the London area, and there is a combined EGTT sectorfile including the ATIS files Kris is refering to. The airport he tried is EGPH. Gergely Csernak Posted December 30, 2009 at 08:26 AM Posted December 30, 2009 at 08:26 AM Ooops, sorry. But the result my be the same. If no metar data for an airport, you may receive this message. Gergely. EuroScope developer
Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted December 30, 2009 at 10:30 AM Posted December 30, 2009 at 10:30 AM I also tested the URL and got the ATIS with no problem. EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers
Kris Thomson Posted December 30, 2009 at 10:57 AM Author Posted December 30, 2009 at 10:57 AM Okay folks tried again this morning and still no luck, I have attached a screenshot of what I am getting to see if that helps! Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted December 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM Posted December 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM That is because your link is not completed you need http://uniatis.net/atis.php?arr=$arrrwy($atisairport)&dep=$deprwy($atisairport)&apptype=ILS&info=$atiscode&metar=$metar($atisairport) to work, it is saying you are not having this metar=$metar($atisairport) - the actual metar EuroScope BETA Tester/Board of Designers
Kris Thomson Posted December 30, 2009 at 09:51 PM Author Posted December 30, 2009 at 09:51 PM Yeah thanks thats sorted that out, but now it says unable to open file, and then whichever voice file it is that it tries to record. How do I solve this problem? Kris Thomson C1 CTP Planning Team member VATSIM UK Live! Organiser Follow VATSIM UK Live! on Twitter
Gergely Csernak Posted December 30, 2009 at 10:16 PM Posted December 30, 2009 at 10:16 PM You should check if you have all the files available in your folder. Gergely. EuroScope developer
Karl Kornel 964857 Posted December 31, 2009 at 02:48 AM Posted December 31, 2009 at 02:48 AM I also suggest checking that your AtisFiles.txt file is loaded properly. Because of the file moves, I had to re-load my AtisFiles.txt file. After that, all was OK! A. Karl Kornel - vZID C1, FE, and Mentor Smoke Bomb! Kris Thomson Posted December 31, 2009 at 02:44 PM Author Posted December 31, 2009 at 02:44 PM yep all is sorted and it does the multiple recording fine. I can listen to it by ticking the listen to playback box and it sounds fine, but no pilots or other controllers, myself included, can hear it if we tune to the frequency?! Any ideas?? Gergely Csernak Posted December 31, 2009 at 03:07 PM Posted December 31, 2009 at 03:07 PM You need to prepare the following things to ensure others can listen to your ATIS: - Start the playback (simple or multiple) - Connect the ATIS controller to the network - Select the appropriate ATIS primary frequency in the voice communication panel If all three are correct then you can see the frequency of the ATIS message next to the ATIS letter on to toolbar. If you see the frequency there, then all is set up correctly. Gergely. EuroScope developer
Kris Thomson Posted December 31, 2009 at 04:47 PM Author Posted December 31, 2009 at 04:47 PM I have done it in that order and the frequency is shown in the toolbar, yet still cant hear anything, but by ticking the playback voice its all fine! Karl Kornel 964857 Posted January 1, 2010 at 03:36 AM Posted January 1, 2010 at 03:36 AM I have done it in that order and the frequency is shown in the toolbar, yet still cant hear anything, but by ticking the playback voice its all fine! hmmm, that's interesting. The next thing I'd check is the comms panel, making sure that the primary frequency, voice server, and voice channel info still looks good. A few more questions to help find the problem: When a pilot tries to connect, do you see their connection in EuroScope? When your voice ATIS is connected, wait a few minutes, and then does the connection appear in Servinfo or VATSpy? Using the Roger Wilco client, can you connect to your voice ATIS? Confirm that, in EuroScope, you see the Roger Wilco client connected. Confirm that, in Roger Wilco, you see EuroScope, and that you hear the voice ATIS broadcast. Good luck! A. Freek Vandeursen 1101105 Posted January 2, 2010 at 07:31 PM Posted January 2, 2010 at 07:31 PM I've had a (maybe) similar problem yesterday. - the ATIS was connected to VATSIM and appeared in the controller list - Multiple record playback was selected - ATIS and transmit voice were selected in the voice comm setup - Listen to playback produced the correct playback - The ATIS frequency appeared in the menu bar - I did see pilots connecting to my ATIS in the voice room list - The ATIS appeared in vroute However, when I selected the ATIS in the controller list and selected Listen to Frequency I didn't hear anything. I wasn't online long and didn't have many pilots so I'm not sure if the pilots were able to listen to my ATIS. Am I correct that Listen to Frequency should have made me hear my own ATIS? If yes, any ideas why it didn't work?
Kris Thomson Posted January 2, 2010 at 09:00 PM Author Posted January 2, 2010 at 09:00 PM This is my voice communication setup! Is this all right? Todor Atanasov 878664 Posted January 2, 2010 at 09:45 PM Posted January 2, 2010 at 09:45 PM Well of course they will not hear you. You don't have ticks on RCV VOI and XMT VOI - receive and transmit voice, so you are not connected to the voice server. You need to connect the ATIS from the Voice Atis window (it should change status to Connected to VATSIM) and then you will see it with the proper ticks in this dialog. Gergely Csernak Posted January 3, 2010 at 10:57 AM Posted January 3, 2010 at 10:57 AM Freek, It is disabled by the program to listen to your voice ATIS back. You will not be able "Listen to frequency" to your ATIS controller. Only other controllers or pilots are able to do that. Gergely.
