Mark McCann 1011233 Posted December 29, 2009 at 08:37 PM Posted December 29, 2009 at 08:37 PM I am having a major issue with my default 737's autopilot when i set the V/S to 1800 it is actually goes over 5000! and causes the aircraft to stall. ANY IDEAS? Thanks
Charan Kumar Posted December 29, 2009 at 11:31 PM Posted December 29, 2009 at 11:31 PM Sorry to ask the obvious, but is ur A/P "cmd" button and the "ALT" button engaged? If so, what was the VS before you engaged autopilot and what your airspeed at which you engage A/P or ALT? While the a/p will control your climb at the 1800 fpm, you have to be close to the setting before the a/p can control the climb, otherwise it takes time especially if you engage it at very steep angles. You might also want to check your trim setting so you know there isn't too much and before A/P takes control the acft can actually climb steep and stall. Charan Kumar Posted December 30, 2009 at 01:04 AM Posted December 30, 2009 at 01:04 AM Just had to eliminate them as possibilities. Would you care to specify the steps you take before the aircraft starts with the steep climb? FSX default acft usually dont' slow down, but never had problems with A/P especially during a climb. Also, did you install any new payware recently, acfts, not scenery? When is your next Flight||VATSIM HitSquad Member, ZOA/ZAK/GANDER/P1
Thomas Mathieu 998318 Posted December 30, 2009 at 01:38 AM Posted December 30, 2009 at 01:38 AM Screenshot of the panel during the initial climb would be extremely helpful. Also, do you have vasFMC installed? Lee Ridgeway 1124048 Posted January 2, 2010 at 06:47 PM Posted January 2, 2010 at 06:47 PM I just have to tell you this. I had the exact same problem with the CRJ700 and never could fix the climbing/stalling problem. I switched to the default 737-800 and had the exact same problem. After posting the problem on another forum they gave me several things to check. Turns out my 4 mo old dachsund had been playing with the saitek joystick and had the button that I had [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned for elevator up trim out of whack and was depressed all the time.
