Hey! Thanks for sharing this with us... One problem, after downloading ONE package, I get an error message that says "Error downloading package: The remote server returned an error (404) Bad Request" Is there a possible explanation to this? Thanks.

They have changed the HTML structure of the WOAI package list page, so it was not finding the individual links any more. I have updated it: http://vpilot.metacraft.com/Assets/Files/WorldOfAiDownl

Or he could be one of those people like me that keep AI on while on VATSIM. It only messes me up every flight!

Are you sure it's 404 Bad Request? 404 should be "Not Found". Bad Request should be 400.

Hrm ... not sure what would cause that. It's working fine for me at the moment, so it's probably not the AVSIM server.

Do you know if your internet connection uses a proxy?

Turns out a virus made a malicious proxy... I disabled this proxy and everything works fine. Thanks!

Ross,

Is it me or have you pulled off the source from github?

Github has set my profile to hidden. I get this message when I log in:

"One of our mostly harmless robots seems to think you are not a human. Because of that, it's hidden your profile from the public. If you really are human, please contact support to have your profile reinstated."

No idea why they think I'm not human ... kind of insulting. I'll contact support and get the account turned on again.

Haha, well that's one I never heard of. Indeed, a bit insulting

Have you tried logging in on AVSIM online?

Yeah I can login fine to the website just can't in the app. I made my account 15 minutes ago so maybe that's it.

How did you fix the issue? I am having the same issue and cannot think for the life of me how to resolve.

Thanks,

Most common issues:

1. Attempting to use AVSIM forum login. AVSIM Library and AVSIM Forums use separate logins; you MUST use AVSIM Library login.

2. Copying and pasting login credentials, and accidentally including extra/superfluous space characters either before or after the login and/or p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word.

3. Failure to ensure an active Library account prior to attempting to use the downloader

Great, thanks I have downloaded them all. Is there any way to install them all to pilot/fix?

Tried to download the packages with the package downloader. But after a few packages I get an 421 error. Any ideas how to solve this?

I'm not familiar with that code ... is there any more details to the error? Can you post a screenshot?

The error is in Dutch so that won't help you very much. I give a translation.

Error downloading package: The external server has returned an error (421). Service not available, control connection closed.

I have download the packages beforer without any problems. But due to an complete re install of my system I lost them. I can download it but it takes very long. It runs for a few packages and then I get this error.

First time I tried it was yesterday evening, so I figured maybe traffic on AVSIM is dense. But this morning I had the same result.

Ross,

The problem is with AVSIM. Some other users complain about not able to download. AVSIM response is that the problem is caused by to many connections. Some users have tried this on several times on a day and get the same problem. I hop AVSIM will investigate. Until then I have to download them one at the time

If the problem is with too many connections, then maybe you can try downloading them at a different time of day when they''re not as busy?

Well tried that but that did not work. After a lot of restarts I have the civil airlines packages download. Now busy with the Cargo airlines.

As said some other users complained about this error. It also happened to someone when there where only 550 connections.

It's very disappointing how such an important resource like WOAI is very hard download. After so many restarts, its ridiculous and still not even close to being finished downloading.

Couldn't agree more!

I tried to reach out to WOAI to get permission to create our own installer that would byp[Mod - Happy Thoughts] the mess of the WOAI installer. You can see they were not interested in helping:
