Simon Grimmett 1368719 Posted July 17, 2018 at 12:29 AM Posted July 17, 2018 at 12:29 AM I am sure several people have posted the same problem I am having but have not been able to find a post that gives me the solution. My problem is that when I am on VATSIM, all the aircraft are the same as my default so if I have B737-800. I see all aircraft the same when I know that there are various aircraft types in the air. Could someone point me in the right direction please. I have Win 10 OS P3D V4 Ifly B737 Thank You. Simon
Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted July 17, 2018 at 01:40 AM Board of Governors Posted July 17, 2018 at 01:40 AM A few questions: What AI packages are you using, and what steps did you use to set it/them up? What pilot client are you using? [Mod - Happy Thoughts]uming vPilot, what does it tell you in terms of identified models? What troubleshooting have you tried based on the model matching troubleshooting steps for your pilot client? Simon Grimmett 1368719 Posted July 17, 2018 at 06:10 PM Author Posted July 17, 2018 at 06:10 PM Hi Don. 1. AI from IVAO - C:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\IVAO_MTL 2. vPilot - IFLY B737-800 is my default Aircraft. 3. Tried various default aircraft, then all other Vatsim aircraft looks identical to mine. Tried the custom rule, made no diffrence. Tried reducing the number of aircraft in the advanced model matching. Currently have 4322 models. SimObjects\Airplanes. I have tried viewing Youtube and sim postings but could not find the answer. Would appreciate your help if there is something i aam doing wrong. Board of Governors Nicholas Cavacini Posted July 17, 2018 at 09:43 PM Board of Governors Posted July 17, 2018 at 09:43 PM The IVAO_MTL should not be used on VATSIM. The creators wish to not allow VATSIM to use the library and if I remember correctly, the license prohibits it. In addition, the creator of vPilot (I [Mod - Happy Thoughts]ume that is which client you are using, you didn't specify) has honored the creator's wishes and vPilot will NOT use the library. You need a specific AI library as clients will not use payware aircraft such as the iFLY B737 due to sim performance. Board of Governors Don Desfosse Posted July 17, 2018 at 10:02 PM Board of Governors Posted July 17, 2018 at 10:02 PM Nic is absolutely correct. May I suggest the AI package that is offered to VATSIM Members, as found on the VATSIM Resources page: https://www.vatsim.net/pilots/resources Strongly suggest you download and install AI. This is not the same as downloading and installing flyable aircraft! Using flyable aircraft as AI generally slows your sim to a crawl, as your sim will attempt to render a higher resolution image, stealing resources away from the sim. AI utilize low resolution models that have a low impact on your frame rates. As such, strongly suggest you do not use your iFly flyable aircraft as your default for the same reasons as explained above. Strongly suggest you revert back to the vPilot default default (sounds funny saying that). If you use the BVAI package, you should see precious few default aircraft, and those that you do see are likely because the other pilot did something wrong, not you.... Simon Grimmett 1368719 Posted July 18, 2018 at 09:01 PM Author Posted July 18, 2018 at 09:01 PM Gentlemen - thank you both for your advise, it worked and now I can see other aircraft and their liveries. This will teach me going through endless 'you tube experts' and not getting the answer I need. To the skies we go again, tally ho and chocks away. Trent Hopkinson Posted July 23, 2018 at 04:51 AM Posted July 23, 2018 at 04:51 AM Best package for ease of use I have ever seen is http://bvai.bvartcc.com/ Works in FSX and P3D (I have personally tested both) with Vpilot Installation is as easy as 1: Download package 2: double click on the thing you just downloaded 3: Click "Ok" many times. 4: till there's no more OK's to click. 5: Run the simulator 6: Run Vpilot 7: Connect to Vatsim.
