Fred Myers Posted July 30, 2022 at 09:04 PM Posted July 30, 2022 at 09:04 PM Hey Ross! So glad we a great VATSIM client that's so easy to use! I'd like to ask about a volume control feature. It would be really great and convenient to be able to control COM1/2 volume controls so that turning one down and another up helps us to distinguish which freq. is being used, especially during busy fly-in events. Not to compare vPilot but, when I was flying during OSH, I could adjust both COM volumes in Pilotedge. This would turn out to be a great feature! Of course, unsure whether vPilot would currently be able to support this feature but it would be exceedingly popular. Thanks again for your time and energy towards the community. John Pool Posted July 31, 2022 at 12:58 PM Posted July 31, 2022 at 12:58 PM Agree with Fred! Thanks so much for vPilot. It would not be possible to fly on the network using MSFS without it. Having the ability to allow the com volume knob in the aircraft to control the actual volume of the vPilot client would be absolutely amazing! I'm sure there is a lot of work to do in order to make this happen, but just wanted to throw in my support for such a feature. As a VR only user, it would be great to have since I can't easily pop over to the vPilot client to adjust volume up or down. Thanks again for the great vPilot client!!
Franck Cagnes Posted August 1, 2022 at 06:56 PM Posted August 1, 2022 at 06:56 PM (edited) Hey I posted a thread previously about this feature of life, I think you did a better explanation. They implemented it xpilot and it's very good. Hope to see it on Vpilot, it would make a difference. Fred Myers Posted August 2, 2022 at 07:55 PM Author Posted August 2, 2022 at 07:55 PM (edited) Appears Xpilot is no longer accessible at Vatsim. If I am not mistaken, Ross is the same dev of both of these. https://audio.vatsim.net/docs/2.0/pilots/xpilot edit: XPilot does appear to be accessible here:https://beta.xpilot-project.org/#/ @VATSIM Please update your downloads section! Ross Carlson Posted August 2, 2022 at 08:38 PM Posted August 2, 2022 at 08:38 PM I am not the developer of xPilot ... that's Justin Shannon. He just used a similar UI (with permission) so they look similar. Fred Myers Posted August 3, 2022 at 07:34 PM Author Posted August 3, 2022 at 07:34 PM Hey guys, if anyone is running FS via Steam AND are able to run this toolbar app consistently, minus CTD's, I would really appreciate being able to hook up with you and troubleshoot. Thanks! Fred Myers - KSJC/KRHV
Divij Roopchand Posted September 23, 2022 at 10:42 AM Posted September 23, 2022 at 10:42 AM (edited) Hello, I have recently changed from Swift to vPilot and am wondering if there is a way to assign shortcut keys to volume control in Audio Settings in vPilot. Similar to the way it works for the PTT key. This would enable me to control the ATC volume using a hardware knob. Would appreciate any help. Thank you! TexasChris Posted October 8, 2022 at 07:05 PM Posted October 8, 2022 at 07:05 PM This would be great if we could get it. I have the problem where some controllers mics are incredibly loud and others are very quiet. It doesn’t seem to change much with distance in these instances. I am often opening vpilot settings to change the output level accordingly. Maybe an alternative would be to implement some kind of output normalization that would keep everyone at roughly the same output volume as set by the user, to help account differences in microphone input gains? Franck Cagnes Posted October 23, 2022 at 12:19 AM Posted October 23, 2022 at 12:19 AM yes putting a compressor with a fzst attack low release would help. Also I would love to be able to change the volume directly from the aircraft like in xp
Hakon Kornstad Posted January 11, 2023 at 10:35 AM Posted January 11, 2023 at 10:35 AM +1! To be able to control the VATSIM volume would be an amazing feature. Example: after I've obtained my landing clearance from a busy tower, I usually feel like lowering the ATC chatter a bit, to concentrate on the aircraft systems and read-outs. Would it be possible to create a binding to the Output Volume in settings?
Fred Myers Posted January 11, 2023 at 09:00 PM Author Posted January 11, 2023 at 09:00 PM I think that someone else will have to come forward to build this feature as the orig. author hasn't appeared to be interested to expand vpilot's abilities. Always room for another Vatsim client, tho! Pilotedge does have this feature so all is not lost. Fred Myers - KSJC/KRHV
