Larry James 901346 Posted July 30, 2007 at 05:47 PM Posted July 30, 2007 at 05:47 PM ok so i download flight sim. then i download FSinn and co-pilot or Sqwuak Box 3? Flight Simulator can't be downloaded, it has to be purchased. It's the only application that has to be bough. There's a preview version of FSX on fsinsider.com, but it lacks the Addons feature to load the pilot client, and use any of the multiplayer functions. If you purchase FS2004, you can then download and use either of the free pilot clients, SB3 or FSInn. If you purchase FSX, currently only the free pilot client, FSInn has support for FSX. So you would have to download FSInn for FSX. There'll be a choice of pilot clients sometime in the future, but only one client at this time. -- L. James -- L. D. Matthew Horan 901577 Posted July 30, 2007 at 05:54 PM Posted July 30, 2007 at 05:54 PM oh ya and do u use your keyboard or a joy stick when you fly? You can't type with a joystick, so you'll use the keyboard for that part. It's up to you as to whether or not you use a joystick to fly. Larry James 901346 Posted July 30, 2007 at 06:09 PM Posted July 30, 2007 at 06:09 PM oh ya and do u use your keyboard or a joy stick when you fly? You can use either or. I couldn't imagine flying with a keyboard. But there are some that have mentioned they did it for years. When picking out a joystick, try to be sure to get one that has a throttle control. A joystick starts about $15.00 (most likely less without throttle controls). If you are sure to get one with a throttle control, then you'd pay a little more for it, it it'd most likely be a better joystick. Having a better joystick is a big enhancement to the experience. Everybody has they favorite. I've used a few. Some of the less expensive joysticks that I find easy to use are the Logitech Attack3 and the Saitek 290. I would consider the Saitek X45 or X52 among the best. Then many like the CH products which cost even more. I haven't used any of the CH products, but belive I will move up to some of them in the future. Logitech Attack3 http://tech.yahoo.com/pr/logitech-attack-3-game-controller/1991366792 Saitek ST290 http://saitekusa.stores.yahoo.net/joysticks.html Saitek X45 http://www.shentech.com/j24c.html Saitek X52 http://www.neutronexpress.com/prod.cfm/325768/SAITEK/PS28/FLIGHT_CONTROL_JOYSTICK CH Products http://www.chproducts.com/retail/index.html I can't vouch for the stores above, I just did Google searches so that you can see the price range and descriptions. I believe the Attack3 is a nice joystick for such a low price, to start out with. -- L. James -- L. D. Aggrey Ellis 964561 Posted July 30, 2007 at 07:24 PM Posted July 30, 2007 at 07:24 PM Take a chill pill. Buy FS2004. Try a few lessons with the instrucator in the game. Read the basic VATSIM rules in the PRC. Download Squawkbox 3 from the website.Connect at a gate at an airport that isnt too busy (a small airfield near your real location) in a smaller plane (like a Cessna 172) and try flying traffic patterns. Alfredo Pacheco Jr 966120 Posted July 31, 2007 at 01:55 AM Posted July 31, 2007 at 01:55 AM THere you go. Aggrey hit it dead on. What I said before, was just summed up in a few sentences. And as for the microsoft webstie. You search for FS9 update. Before you do anything, install Flight sim 2004, then go to the microsoft website and install the update. After that is installed, you can go ahead and install everything that you want. SO, FS9 is your choice. Take your time in installing. You don't want to run into any issues, and get confused early on.
