Andre Koch 852831 Posted April 11, 2005 at 11:34 AM Author Posted April 11, 2005 at 11:34 AM Next leg will be to Auckland NZAA, so we will be guests of the Australian airspace for quite a bit of time. By the way, I just noticed you already found the way to our forums, so I guess you already saw the pics. I will still post them in the screenshots section of this forum for the benefit of everyone else however. Michael Krause 810881 Posted June 9, 2005 at 10:26 PM Posted June 9, 2005 at 10:26 PM Hi folks! Now it's fix the SAG pilots will fly from Perth, along the Southern coast of Australia and over the Tasman Sea to Auckland on Saturday, the 18th of June! Departure time at Perth will be 0600z (1400 lcl) and we will arrive at Auckland around 1200z (0000 lcl). There are three routes to choose so we will create a sail of routes over the Tasman Sea on our way to "the city of sails" (major cities just for orientation - no landings there): Route 1 (North); BROOK2.HALIT Y19 AD H31 CULIN Y59 SY L521 LUNBI.HAB1BW Route 2 (Middle): BROOK2.TAMOD Y53 WENDY V279 ML N759 PEBLU.HAB1BW Route 3 (South): BROOK2.TAMOD L513 VELMO.HAB1BW We expect again around 15-20 pilots to join the flight so we'd be really happy to get ATC on our trip!! Since we also want the x-planers to join in we need some GND-sector-file-data (just the normal format for ASRC) for Perth to create a fitting x-plane scenery for Perth (there is already one for Auckland). Perth in X-Plane: Auckland in X-Plane: Looking forward to it and thanks in advance!! Greets Micha
Norman Blackburn Posted June 10, 2005 at 07:04 AM Posted June 10, 2005 at 07:04 AM Micha, I have linked this into the VATPAC forum. I think the timings clash with a flight I am already planning on doing from OMDB - YMML. Hopefully though the region will pull out all the stops for you guys. Sectorfiles are available at www.vatpac.org - left menu Airspace | Sector Files | Australia. Norman
Andy Dyson 847686 Posted June 10, 2005 at 08:19 AM Posted June 10, 2005 at 08:19 AM Hi Micha, I am sure we can organise some ATC out of Perth for you guys! In regard to the planned routes: Route 1 (North); BROOK2.HALIT Y19 AD H31 CULIN Y59 SY L521 LUNBI.HAB1BW Route 2 (Middle): BROOK2.TAMOD Y53 WENDY V279 ML N759 PEBLU.HAB1BW Route 3 (South): BROOK2.TAMOD L513 VELMO.HAB1BW The BROOK2 departure is for Runway 21 only. If Runway 03 is active, it will be the PEPPA3 departure. May I suggest that the guys file as follows? PH Y19 AD H31...(rest of above route) PH Y53 WENDY V279... PH L513 VELMO.... ATC will then advise the appropriate SID, but you could expect the BROOK2 (HALIT or TAMOD transition) for Runway 21 and the PEPPA3 (same transitions) for Runway 03. The procedures are available here in case you don't have the link: http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/publications/current/dap/AeroProcChartsTOC.htm I hope to see you next Saturday Cheers, Andy
Andre Koch 852831 Posted June 10, 2005 at 01:06 PM Author Posted June 10, 2005 at 01:06 PM Hi Andy, thanks for the great information. Unfortunately your link wouldn´t work for me, but I already have the full set of charts for YPPH anyway... Edit: Disregard, it just did work... Guess I´ll be off now to practice some departures out of Perth. Cheers, Andre Koch Director VACC-SAG [email protected]
Michael Krause 810881 Posted June 10, 2005 at 11:46 PM Posted June 10, 2005 at 11:46 PM @Norman and Andy: Thanks a lot! I've changed the routes in our German forum already! Any chance to get a link to a YPPH-Ground-Sectorfile? Would be really great if our X-Plane colleagues could join us! (They just need the geo-infomation of the runways and taxiways and from that they can build a fitting scenery. Greets! Micha
Andy Dyson 847686 Posted June 11, 2005 at 12:51 AM Posted June 11, 2005 at 12:51 AM Hi Micha, The link to the Australian sector files is: http://www.vatpac.org/sectors/index.html The one you will be needing is YMMM_0501.ZIP (5.2MB). Ben Ippolito 811438 Posted June 11, 2005 at 03:58 AM Posted June 11, 2005 at 03:58 AM Michael, If that doesn't work then try the main site of www.vatpac.org Then using the left menu select Airspace>Sector Files>Australia This will take you to the same page, then you need the YMMM file as Andy said. If that still doesn't work then I'll post it to the VATPAC BB for you to download, as I can't add attachments here. Also I suggest that all pilots using SB3 add the Oceania SMS set, as it will add a lot of liveries that are common in our region. This can be found at www.comp[Mod - Happy Thoughts]-virtual.org/sms/sms.html it is a simple one click executable that will do all the work for you! Looking forward to seeing you down under! Michael Krause 810881 Posted June 11, 2005 at 02:25 PM Posted June 11, 2005 at 02:25 PM lol - noo not Andy's link is broken but the link on the vatpac site itself. All others work (Brisbane etc.), just the YMMM link is broken: The requested URL /sectors/ymmm_0501.zip was not found on this server. EDIT: Didn't have the time before but it's just a typpo in the URL of the link: Should be YMMM_0501.zip instead of ymmm_0501.zip - Would be nice if someone would tell the webmaster of vatpac. Michael Krause 810881 Posted June 12, 2005 at 05:30 PM Posted June 12, 2005 at 05:30 PM Thanks Andy! A question for Auckland: Which scenery do you suggest for NZAA? Auckland 2005 + Fix (Savern Reweti et al) or the one by Luke Clark (nzaa_v2.35.zip)? Thanks! Really looking forward to this!! Greets Micha
Andre Koch 852831 Posted June 14, 2005 at 01:13 PM Author Posted June 14, 2005 at 01:13 PM Thanks! Really looking forward to this!! Heck yeah, me too! My MD-11 is being polished for days now by a dozen workers using only the softest cloths. The fuel - of course only selected vintages - is being refilled in open tanks right now so the fuel can breathe, enabling it to unfold its full potential. Every single letter of the routing has already been carefully and affectionately entered into the FMC. Hydraulic and battery fluids are being held at their optimal temperature by specially developed heating pads, and all fuel lines are being checked for perfect flow rates. Handpicked, skilled workers are standing by as we speak, ready to clean the cockpit windows with soft sponges one last time before departure. First preperations to clean every squaremillimeter of the taxi- and runways with toothbrushes are being held right now. In other words: I´m ready and can´t wait. Soooooo looking forward to this one! Robert Grant Posted June 18, 2005 at 10:51 PM Posted June 18, 2005 at 10:51 PM Andre et al I know this is a bit late but FYI Here is where the burnt flat land of OZ is a wee bit out of step with the rest of the world We dont plan SIDs and STARs in our fligth plans in this country because the software we use in TAAATS doesnt currently support that. There is a move underway to change this but it might be a year or two in coming. Stay tuned folks Regards Rob P1/P2/P3 /C3/ VATAME1 (retired)
Terrence Scanlan Posted June 19, 2005 at 02:30 AM Posted June 19, 2005 at 02:30 AM What a great turn out from the SAG group on the YPPH to NZAA sector, a continual "string of pearls" all the way across the continent and out over the pond to New Zealand. Quite a few local pilots joined in to add some traffic as well and the group had continual ATC from start to finish. Obviously the SAG group will fly out from NZAA some time in the near future and we will arrange ATC coverage for them once again so if you guys can give some notice we will be there for you.
