Kirk Christie
35 miles, is that even a factor for a traffic report? Kirk Christie - VATPAC C3 VATPAC Undercover ATC Agent Worldflight Perth 737-800 Crew Member

Benjamin Koula
Brand new S1 controller and I log onto the zHUARTCC discord. I found my way a channel where I saw a very familiar callsign, N1337TX, my callsign. It was my flight plan from KIAH to KBPT in a Mooney M20, VFR, 5000 feet. Felt a bit embarrassed cause controllers hate it when you put DIRECT in the route box. Edited April 19 by Benjamin Koula

Hmmmmmmmm... but if you're VFR, you shouldn't need to put anything in the route box, because you're not going to be cleared on a route that requires any kind of navigation instrument other than your eyeball. The only thing I see "wrong" about what you posted is that a VFR eastbound altitude (in the US, at least) would be 5,500 rather than 5,000. Cheers, -R.
