Eduardo Passos 0
Thanks for answering, Matt So all I have to do is get controllers's software (VRC or other) and get the training? 1) Where, how and when could I do it? 2) Once choosing a region would I be sent to any airport or there would be an specific place? 3) Controllers's software already has voice? Thanks again Eduardo Eduardo P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]os VATSIM Supervisor VATBRZ Senior Controller

Unfortunately I'm having trouble with my real-life region (BRAZIL) since I just can't get an answer from them. Tried to register in their forum buth didn't get back an email to activate my register. Just the same can I go to vatsim.net and join any region (and their division)? Eduardo P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]os VATSIM Supervisor VATBRZ Senior Controller

Andrew Martz 988336 0
Ok, I was on the VATUSA website and I tried signing up for training. It says I'm not in their database or something like that. So then I go to change to VATUSA and VATSIM says I'm am part of VATUSA. (\__/) (='.'=)
Ruth McTighe 824054 0
You should contact VATUSA by e-mail to tell them about your problem rather than just posting in a general forum. Adrien Quenneville 948091 0
Nope, just apply with the ARTCC/FIR you want to be part of. Make sure you have access to the charts for where you will be controlling. That's it!

Alex Stjepanovic 963114 0
Hello Robert, You are going to have to go to a vACC/vARTCC/vFIR where you wish to control and request training(Before that, go to www.vatsim.net and on the left hand side, go to Member Services and Account Changes. Then go to Change Region and select the Region that you wish to control in. Then go back to Account Changes and Select a Division in a Region). This may take up to a day or two. P.S. Just make sure that the location of your vACC/vARTCC/vFIR is properly selected, or it might take a few additional days to correct the mistake. Enjoy and welcome aboard Controllers have feelings too...

Matthew Barkley 1020782 0
I am in the USA division (vatusa), after I take the Basic Exam, can i start controlling? or do I have to take more tests before I can start controlling, at S1 Level, what are the restrictions regarding what services you provide (GND, TWR, CTR, APP, etc) and do you have to have voice capabilities to be ATC? All those questions are for USA divison Matthew - where and when you can control once you are an S1 varies greatly from Facility to Facility. If you join ZXX you might be able to work approach with your S1. If you join ZYY you might be able to work tower only with your S1. If you join ZZZ you might not be able to work ANYWHERE without further testing and practical observations. I recommend you take a look at the training programs specified on the various ARTCC web sites and select one that suits your needs. One note is that in general (doesn't always apply) the more popular facilities with the lions share of the traffic require more training than the less popular and less frequented facilities. As for voice - it is NOT a requirement that ATC is able to communicate using voice. Ian Elchitz Just a guy without any fancy titles

Luis Bigay 1010463 0
How do we get p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]words for VATUSA? on the website it says: 4. YOUR NEW VATUSA P[Mod - Happy Thoughts]WORD:Your VATUSA p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word will be emailed to the email address you used to register to VATSIM with. The database synchronization between VATUSA and VATSIM occurs once a day very early in the morning. Many times this means you will not get your p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word until the next day. Our VATUSA website uses its own username and p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word system. Your username is your CID number which is [CID]. Your p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word is [p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word emailed to you]. This p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word only works for the VATUSA website and does not have anything to do with the VATSIM network or trying to log onto the network with ASRC or Squawkbox. I wish somewhere in there it said how to actually get the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word sent to me, since it says the p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word only works for vatusa and not vatsim. I signed up with vatsim a while ago so what do I have to do to get a different p[Mod - Happy Thoughts]word for VATUSA? on another note, dont know if its just me, but all these "VAT" websites seem like they were made VERY UN-user friendly...
