Mentoring:

I have now been a member for a few good weeks and haven't seen a mentoring session going on (UK)?

Does anybody know if there will be one available soon?

Thanks,

What RTS?

Mentoring sessions are picked up based on the waiting list, if there are several students ahead of you there might be a little while before somebody can pick up your session.

Also UK specific questions are usually best asked on the UK forums, community.vatsim-uk.co.uk

Hello,

I am one of the mentors in Denmark, please visit http://www.vatsim-scandinavia.org and contact the training director with a training request. You will be put in a que and instructed on what to do.

Looks like you've joined the UK division. If that was your intention, see this page on the VATSIM UK website - it should get you going in the right direction.

Hey guys, I know many who are involved with VATSIM are either already involved with aviation in some way, shape or form, and many want to get involved with pursuing a career in a rewarding field. Some of you may have already heard the news but for those located in the states, the FAA is hiring controllers this year with no experience required. This will be an OTS (off the street) bid. March 23, 2015 is the tentative date on which the posting will come out on USA Jobs website. Keep your eyes and ears open!

Have a great weekend everyone! Be safe!

http://www.vateud.net/

Point to (or click on) "OPERATIONS" at the top

Click "HOW TO JOIN"

Follow the steps listed on that page

In case you're unsure, note that you already belong to the "Europe" (VATEUD) division and the "Europe (except UK)" (VATEUR) region, so you don't need to take any action for steps #1 or #2 on that page.

Hi, Bradley! Thank you for your quick response. I had found that page (because I've turned the vatsim and the vateud upside-down, searching for a place to get started as an ATC), but it still doesn't make any logic:

How to join

How do I join VATSIM Europe Division (VATEUD)?

If you are a VATSIM member, but do not belong to VATEUD, please visit the VATSIM Member Service page to change your Division.

You must also be a member of VATSIM Europe Region (VATEUR), but if NOT, follow the this link , go to Membership Dashbord and change Region and Division. Note that a Region transfer can take a few days, as it requires approval.

After you have selected your Division – Go to VATEUD's webpage, and read the VATEUD Policy & Regulations. Did that.

You have to agree on this. How do I do this? Then, check the VATEUD Countries page and decide what vACC you want to belong to. I have (in my mind, though). Next...? If you do not know if you are [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to a vACC, please contact VATEUD Membership. This is especially important if you want to become an ATC, but also relevant for local Pilot training.

If you do not have a VATSIM account, get one for free at VATSIM.

If you have any membership related questions, do not hesitate to contact us. I think I will...

Looking forward to seeing you online.

Reminder:

Please remember that in order to maintain your VATSIM membership (as per the VATSIM Code of Regulations), a member must log on and use the VATSIM.net network as a Pilot and/or a Controller at least once during the previous calendar quarter.

Which vACC did you select? What happened when you went to their website and completed the relevant form to join that vACC?

There is not such a rule on VATSIM which means you should/must be able to join any desired vACC/ARTCC either as a 'local' or 'visiting' member. As VATSIM is a world wide online flight simulation network, nationality must not be the reason not to accept specific groups of persons.

Hi.

I am new to this community and I am thinking about maybe becoming vatsim ATC. But being of Milwaukeean descent (I was born and live in Germany) I would really like to be (one of) the ATC(s) for Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport (KMKE). But I don't know if it is actually listed as an airport that ATCs can be [Mod - Happy Thoughts]igned to. Is there a list that can be looked at or is that all up to the person in charge? And if it is listed, do you know if it would make sense to service the airport, traffic wise?

Thanks in advance,

Aaron,

Mainz, Germany

Welcome to VATSIM!

I am not sure if the colleagues in Chicago ARTCC train their ATC students directly at Milwaukee General Mitchell International Airport (KMKE) because Chicago Intl. (KORD) isn't that far away. However, you may contact the vZAU ARTCC staff by using the contact form on http://www.zauartcc.org/contact

Caution German language: Viel Spaß da drüben auf der anderen Seite des Atlantiks. Falls du mal nach Hause sehnst, du bist jederzeit willkommen.

Dont feel as this would require an entire thread so I thought I would just ask it here.. I am interested in learning to control and eventually controlling at KPWM in Portland, Maine. I am curious as to who has jurisdiction over this airport. Would it be under the Boston VATSIM region?
